Broken ankle sidelines McCutcheon

Waratahs flank Pat McCutcheon will miss the rest of the Super Rugby season after seriously injuring his ankle in the match against the Highlanders.

McCutcheon dislocated and broke his left ankle in the act of scoring a try in Saturday’s game in Dunedin. It’s been confirmed that he will undergo surgery on Monday and not take any further part in the Waratahs’ campaign.

McCutcheon will spend at least six months rehabilitating his ankle.

The good news for the Waratahs is that lock Sitaleki Timani is expected to play against the Force this Saturday. Timani has returned to the Sydney side after spending a season with the Canon Eagles in Japan.

I think i posted a couple of weeks ago that the only certainty with the Tahs is that they will lead the comp in the number of players out for the season.

That bet is looking really good.
