NZRU tie down Cruden

Aaron Cruden has extended his contract with the New Zealand Rugby Union until 2014.

Cruden, who has started the season well for the Chiefs, is expected to deputise for Dan Carter with the All Blacks this year. He said the decision was a simple one.

‘I am really stoked to have re-signed with the NZRU and the Chiefs until 2014. I am really enjoying my footy in New Zealand and looking forward to the challenges that the next few years will bring,’ Cruden said.

Chiefs coach Dave Rennie added: ‘It is great news for all New Zealand fans and in particular the Chiefs fans. Aaron is an integral part of this franchise going forward and epitomises everything we want in our Chiefs players. It is fantastic that he has made a commitment to us long-term.’
