Bad boy Braid cited
17 Mar 2012
The Blues are set to lose yet another player with news that Luke Braid has been cited for foul play in Friday’s match against the Stormers.
The Blues flank was cited after striking Stormers player Nizaam Carr with his elbow and forearm at the back of the neck in the 62nd minute of the match. The citing commissioner said the incident met the red card threshold for foul play, suggesting Braid will pick up a ban.
The Blues are already without Jerome Kaino (shoulder), Anthony Boric (neck), Isaia Toeava (hip), Rudi Wulf (shoulder), George Moala (shoulder) and David Raikuna (hamstring). Rene Ranger is serving a suspension while Tony Woodcock and Michael Hobbs were both unavailable for the Stormers game but should return for the next fixture against the Hurricanes.

He was quite irascible out there last night. Talking – no, shouting – back at the referee a few times. Suprised that alone didn’t earn him a penalty or a yellow

@Melchizedek(Melchizedek)-1: True, but at times the ref needed a good shouting at.

Typical filthy farkin Kiwis – and a flanker too – what a surprise.
Although Aplon was very lucky not to get busted with his tackle in the air

Aplons deserved a penalty, no more. Overall Glen Jackson had a good game considering it was his first as a superrugby ref. good to see explayers stepping up into this role.
