@Nils(Nils)-5: I agree Italy are surviving on the sole performances of a few guys who will not be too long from retirement. they have always relied on one or two players. before it was Dominguez and Troncon that buoyed the team.

@Tartan(Tartan)-4: I'm afraid Italy have reached the ceiling already until some young big talents come in somewhere in the future. Castro and Sergio will not hang around forever and even with them only utterly woeful Scots were conquered, while pisspoor English escaped yet again. Take them both away now and Italy look bleak completely. Which is a pity.

Ja, you’re right there Nils. Scotland seem to be perennially rebuilding and really cannot put the pieces together, and while Italy have been steadily improving they appear to have hit a plateau of late.

Since Italy came in, it’s 12 times out of 13 the wooden spoonist was either them or the Scots. Nice to see Azzuris avoiding 10th time.

Long long way to go till Italians or Scots will get a prime time on the last day.

Scotland were woeful, as well as ill disciplined, and Nick De Luca and several others are not test level.

This match was a cure for insomnia.
