Two of South Africa’s schoolboy powerhouses, Affies and Grey Bloem, were victorius in their season openers against Diamantveld and Duineveld respectively.
Affies and Grey Bloem travelled to Kimberley to kick off their 2012 campaigns against two of the Northern Cape’s top teams.
Affies, who were captained by SA Schools prop Pierre Schoeman, managed a 24-10 win against Diamantveld. The boys from Pretoria are expected to be a major threat this season as they have retained most of their 1st XV players from last year.
