Sale sign Cipriani

Melbourne Rebels flyhalf Danny Cipriani has signed a three-year deal with the Sale Sharks.

Cipriani joined the Rebels at the start of last year having been repeatedly snubbed by then England manager Martin Johnson. However, with Stuart Lancaster now in charge, the 24-year-old has chosen to return home after the current Super Rugby season to stake a claim for the England No 10 jersey.

‘I’ve got extra motivation this year to make sure I get in the England side and to really improve on my performances from last year,’ said Cipriani, who has had a controversial stay Down Under, being fined for a nightclub incident and spending a month on the bench for breaching team curfew.

‘I’m not going to change too much,’ he said of his lifestyle. ‘Mistakes happen and stuff gets glamorised in the press.’

Rebel without a clue. Sale Sharks will have buyer’s remorse within a fortnight.

Can’t see this guy getting ahead of Farrell and Flood any time soon. Perhaps he can squeeze ahead of Hodgson for third in line, but not sure if he’s got the right attitude for it.

Even talented players need to work hard to get to the top. Not sure if Cipriani realises this.

I remember a couple of years ago when some bloggers were saying he has more talent than Frans Steyn… Egg on their face!

Stuart Lancaster probably won’t be in charge by the time Cipriani gets back to England.

He still can’t tackle for kak, so there is no way he’s ever going to be a first choice 10 at test level, especially when Farrell seems quite steady and Flood is a capable backup.

Whoever comes through the door is going to try and blood the next generation – Cipriani, despite his age, is still very much viewed as part of the last grouping, and one of those who was left at the wayside at that.

despite Ciprianis clear limitations as a player, he certainly brings more ‘game’ than any whinging Yappie no10 currently playing.

and I might add smarter by far, though your whinging Yappie bachkline players are so dumb it’s not difficult
