SACS, Boishaai impress at Newlands
23 Mar 2012
SACS and Paarl Boys’ were the big winners at the Newlands Rugby Day last Tuesday.
While the schools from the other parts of the country kicked off their season last weekend, the Western Cape’s top teams started their year with 20-minute-a-half friendlies at the annual Newlands Rugby Day. There were no conversions or penalties allowed as the only method of scoring was via a try.
SACS and Boishaai were the best performers as the both recorded 25-0 wins over Brackenfell and Tygerberg respectively. Boland Landbou also did well, downing Durbanville 25-5. The De Kuilen-DF Malan and Paul Roos-Paarl Gym clashes ended in a 5-5 stalemate.
Newlands Rugby Day 1st XV results:
De Kuilen 5 DF Malan 5
Boland Landbou 25 Durbanville 5
Tygerberg 0 Paarl Boys’ 25
Paul Roos 5 Paarl Gym 5
SACS 25 Brackenfell 0

I know this is a rugby site but does anyone know which other rugby schools perform well at cricket. e.g: Boishaai has the best T20 school cricket team in the country and they are consistently in the TOP 5 rugby rankings.
quite an amazing achievement.
