Waterkloof recorded a 23-16 home win over Affies in Schoolboy Derby’s feature match on Saturday.
Klofies led 8-3 at half-time, with Affies doing well to trail by only five points as they lost SA Schools prop Pierre Schoeman to the sin bin for a dangerous tackle.
The hosts came out a stronger after the break, scoring 15 points to seal a famous victory – only their eighth win over Affies in their history.
In other results, Grey Bloem continued their winning run to the year with a 37-25 win over Henties Cilliers. The latter did well to trail 22-18 at half-time, but Grey Bloem were more clinical in the second half for the 12-point triumph.
Pretoria Boys’, who downed KES last weekend, crashed back down to earth with a 17-14 home loss to St Stithians. KES bounced back against St Alban’s with a convincing 34-3 victory. There were also big wins for Jeppe Boys’, Wynberg and Noord-Kaap.
