Gatland offered Lions job

Wales mentor Warren Gatland is set to coach the British & Irish Lions when they tour Australia in 2013.

According to reports in the United Kingdom, Gatland has already been interviewed for the position and the appointment is expected to be finalised next month.

Gatland led Wales to a Grand Slam in this year’s Six Nations, but won’t be in charge of the Dragons in 2013 as his new position at the Lions will demand that he focuses on planning for the tour Down Under.

Gatland was Ian McGeechan’s forwards coach for the Lions’ 2009 tour to South Africa, which the Springboks won 2-1. Another member of that management team, defence coach Shaun Edwards, is also expected to be part of the coaching staff in 2013.

    I’ve paid my dues
    Time after time
    I’ve done my sentence
    But committed no crime
    And bad mistakes
    I’ve made a few
I’ve had my share of sand kicked in my face
    But I’ve come through
(And we mean to go on and on and on and on)

We are the champions my friends
And we’ll keep on fightin’ till the end
We are the champions, We are the champions
No time for losers ’cause we are the champions

    …Of the world…

    I’ve taken my bows
    And my curtain calls
You brought me fame and fortune and everything that
    goes with it
    I thank you all

But it’s been no bed of roses
    No pleasure cruise
I consider it a challenge before the whole human race
    And I ain’t gonna lose

We are the champions my friends
And we’ll keep on fighting till the end
    We are the champions
    We are the champions
    No time for losers
    ’cause we are the champions

    Of the world

We are the champions my friends
And we’ll keep on fighting till the end
    We are the champions
    We are the champions
    No time for losers
    ’cause we are the champions.

Expect a lot of quotes in the media before the series

Welll deserved and several Lions’ jumpers will be filled by Welsh Dragons. After the 2011 World Cup, I would have loved to see a test series between Wales and Australia.

Well, he deserves the opportunity given how good Wales have been in the past couple of years. Good luck to him, I hope he puts on a good showing against the Wallabies.

    @BULLET(BULLET)-7:

the Wallabies beat a far stronger Lions team last time they were here than the bunch of no-names that the PrickBoks were lucky to beat in Yappieland. The PrickBoks can count their lucky stars Bryce was on hand when needed.

Presumably he’s a poster boy in the Land of the Lobotomized.

2 Kiwis squaring off in 2013 — should be interesting. Best chance Lions have of a series win in a long time.

If the Bleatingish and Oilyish Liars win the series, will they give Gatland a knighthood?
Sir Eain only beat the BabyBoks, in a dead rubber, so Gatland should become a lord at least!! Lol!!

Hang on! He’s a mere colonial and they count for ruck all. You SH rednecks are possibly not aware that there has only been one official RWC and that was won by Dame Livid and the English-ish team .

    Cheers!

The last three Liars tours have been great warm-up matches for the 3N sides. Each 3N host has gone on to become SH champion of the year.
