even with a full strength side Lions would struggle upfront

Crockett,Flynn,Franks,A.Whitelock,G.Whitelock,K.Read are all All Blacks in their pack-add 2 All Blacks on the bench in B.Franks,T.Donnelly.

So no Lions dont have strength upfront to match Saders…then in the backs….whitewash to Saders

I do like the look of Caylib Oosthuizen though,good mobility,workrate,size and decent scrummager.

I am sorry, but Butch is over his best. The Lions could spend the R3.5m pa much better…

Perhaps then the lack in depth could be addressed.

@Alucard(Alucard)-8: Butch has a history with Carter,makes it interesting..if the Lions have a good start in this game they will back them selves for the full 80min..One thing Mitchell has done extremely good is getting the Lions fitness to where it is..I look forward to a game alot closer then some bloggers are predicting..

@stormersboy(stormersboy)-2: Morne is the only Bo flyhalf that produce something good in a poor Bok pack. That much has been proven repeatedly over the past three years. You are implying that Morne is inconsistent, something which is a lie. He wasn't poor against the Blues, just a little off with the boot. That was in a game where the Blues were punching huge holes in the Blue's defence. Now take someone like Bambie, Jantjies and Grant, now that's a cause for concern.

Butch starting at 10 will be a big boost. Opponents are very wary of venturing down his channel which will aleviate alot of pressure. Butch has a history of thumping Carter into the following decade; something Carter very much does not like or cope well with. Furthermore, Butch is a far better decision maker and can vary his game more than Jantjies. Jantjies is like a stuck record doing the same thing repeatedly. No tactical ability. Becoming more of a Cooper.

This is a big ask for our boys. If we can limit the Saders in the first half, we will be in with a shout. Too many injuries and disruptions. With our full strength side, I would expect a win, but hey lets see what happens!
