Lions receive late boost
30 Mar 2012
Elton Jantjies, Alwyn Hollenbach and Lionel Mapoe have all recovered from injuries and will face the Crusaders this Saturday.
Hollenbach (hamstring injury) was listed as doubtful at the start of the week, but has made a timely return to the starting line-up. He replaces Doppies La Grange at No 12, as La Grange has been ruled out for three months with an elbow injury.
Jantjies and Mapoe have both overcome their respective injuries and have been included on the bench. Otherwise the 22 that played the Stormers last week is unchanged.
Lions – 15 James Kamana, 14 Deon van Rensburg, 13 Jaco Taute, 12 Alwyn Hollenbach, 11 Andries Coetzee, 10 Butch James, 9 Tian Meyer, 8 Warren Whiteley, 7 Joshua Strauss (c), 6 Derick Minnie, 5 Franco van der Merwe, 4 Marius Coetzer, 3 Pat Cilliers, 2 Callie Visagie, 1 Caylib Oosthuizen.
Subs: 16 Martin Bezuidenhout, 17 Jacobie Adriaanse, 18 Stephan Greeff, 19 Cobus Grobbleaar, 20 Ross Cronje, 21 Elton Jantjies, 22 Lionel Mapoe.

Looking beter for the home side. I wonder if the saders are going to feel the altitude?
30 Mar 2012, 12:41 pm
Great stuff…
Go one better than the cheetahs…!
30 Mar 2012, 12:43 pm
Butch is going to smother Dan in the first half, and Elton is going to run circles around him in the second.
30 Mar 2012, 12:44 pm
now this makes it very interesting and exciting.
30 Mar 2012, 12:49 pm
Great stuff. Hope they haven’t rushed them back too soon out of sheer desperation.
30 Mar 2012, 13:25 pm
good news….enough to beat the crusaders? not sure….time will tell.
@Wanderer(Wanderer)-3: Carter will probably only play 1 half.
30 Mar 2012, 13:52 pm
hope the Lion’s win this one … Call it their last game against the Crusaders.
Next year it’s the KINGS!!

30 Mar 2012, 14:08 pm
These players are being rushed back. Why risk losing them for longer, these saders are the real deal with 10 ABs and theyre on the up! Stupid decision John.

@the Kings supporters slappes,rugby only and mshininipielietjie- there you have just proved why you don’t deserve SR in the EC, go on supporting the KIWIS.
30 Mar 2012, 14:37 pm
@Wanderer(Wanderer)-14:
Slappes is a WP supporter.
30 Mar 2012, 14:37 pm
@Sasuke(Sasuke)-12:
On attack dude is an animal!! It will happen sooner rather than later-Freaun/SBW for AB’s-both still young…Thats if SBW stays in union.. Freaun only problem is his error rate(hands) and defensive accurary which is why he hasnt made AB’s yet.But he looks to be improving early in season.
@Transformation(Transformation)-13:
Told u a couple years ago about Freaun uyakhumbula? His error seems to be improving,personally I would ease him in to Tests in the wing first rather than playing likes of Kahui/Toeava/Ranger on wing.
30 Mar 2012, 14:43 pm
@Wp till you die- whats the difference he still supports the kiwi teams, most likely sleeps in AB nighties.
30 Mar 2012, 14:43 pm
@mshiniwami(mshiniwami)-16: yebo..his D is still suspect though…he’s had to play with a lot of 12s though – crotty, sbw, marshall, carter last week.
if he sleeps taute will skin him!
30 Mar 2012, 14:44 pm
@Wanderer(Wanderer)-17:
And mshiniwami is a Sharks supporter.
30 Mar 2012, 14:45 pm

@Transformation(Transformation)-21:
30 Mar 2012, 15:19 pm
wonder what the odds are on an upset here?
30 Mar 2012, 16:24 pm
It is always tough against the Saders. They play a total game. If you fall asleep in one aspect of the game, they will skin you! The Lions need to start well and keep the ball in hand. By doing that we can make them tackle us. Then send Elton and Mapoe in the last 20 and Lions by 10! But then again, this is the Saders!
30 Mar 2012, 16:44 pm
Jantjies back? There goes any chance of winning. Crusaders by 20+
30 Mar 2012, 16:44 pm
@Loyal Lion(Loyal Lion)-25: the cheetahs ran these saders close up until the last 10 minutes, there’s no reason why the lions can’t perform!
30 Mar 2012, 17:18 pm
Got to revise my prediction now
The Saders by 7
30 Mar 2012, 17:29 pm
Not a fan of Taute at 13. Although you cannot rush Mr Glass Mapoe into the match 15. I hope he stays injury free for the rest of the tourney and get an extended run at 13.
@WP Till I Die(WP-Forever)-19: Correction. A bitter Sharks supporter. The poor fella is still battling with that 2011 CC final pill.
@Transformation(Transformation)-27: If they didn’t go to uncontested scrums scoreboard would have not been the same.
30 Mar 2012, 18:00 pm
@WPtid, howzit mate? Whatsup with these aggro lions supporters, I’m trying to help them.
30 Mar 2012, 18:31 pm
@Slappes(Slappes)-30: haha some kind of help you dishing out.
30 Mar 2012, 21:03 pm
The Lions chances of winning this game are

31 Mar 2012, 00:52 am
