Rassie back in Bok fold?

Rassie back in Bok fold?

Rassie Erasmus is set to be named as Saru’s High Performance manager in the near future.

Die Burger reports that the former Stormers director of coaching could be appointed as early as Friday, as Saru’s executive council gathered in Cape Town on Thursday.

If not confirmed over the next several hours, it is still strongly believed that Erasmus will be given a senior post at Saru. His role is likely to overlook South African rugby, in terms of coaching and style of play, like he did at Western Province.

Other names rumoured to join head coach Heyneke Meyer’s management are Ricardo Loubscher (backline coach), John McFarland (defence), Louis Koen (kicking) and Basil Carzis (fitness and conditioning).

As long as that little ginger head Wynie strydom that sits on the bench with his ginger mustache don’t get involved then I’m happy.

That guys hair always looks on fire ;-)

Bunch of useless Yappie scum all lining up just to be beaten again. Expect lots of yapping and ref blaming when it happens, it is in the Yappie genes.

Great stuff. Rassie is the perfect guy to have in that role. Innovative enough to try different methods.

have no problem with rassie especially considering heyneks will keep him honest throughout.

This asticle is misleading. Sport24 stated that Rassie would be responsible for playing styles and structures below Bok level. Since the S15 and Currie Cup coaches do what they want, who does this leave for Rassie to manage? The junior teams? Club rugby?

Probably an inbred from tasmania, they like their sheep down there.

isnt ‘high performance’ and ‘SARU’ in the same sentence a fundamental contradiction in terms ?!

Rassie’s always looking for a new angle. Might not like to work that much. The Stormers still look the same with or without him.

@Tacitus(Deucalion)-8: Heynekek had talked about getting all SA teams on teh same page. Yes, right NOW, Super rugby teams coaches do what tehy want. But if they can be gently guided by logical perusasion to get on boad, and can see how the system works for the Boks, then maybe they will all slowly come around.
