The Golden Lions smashed the Griffons 71-25 in a Vodacom Cup match played in Johannesburg on Saturday.

The Lions led 24-6 at the break before hitting their stride in the second stanza. They eventually finished with eleven tries in all.

Results from the weekend see Griquas topping the North Section log while Western Province are in pole position in the South Section.
