Brumbies pivot crocked

Matt Toomua has been ruled out for the remainder of the Super Rugby season with a serious knee injury.

The Brumbies flyhalf left the field in Saturday’s match against the Sharks. Toomua had a knee injury earlier in the season and some feel that he wasn’t 100% fit ahead of this clash. Scans have now revealed a torn cruciate ligament, and he will not play again for the Brumbies in 2012.

Christian Lealiifano is likely to take Toomua’s place at No 10.

Tough break. I’ve had the same injury and wouldn’t wish it on anyone, but truth be told I think christian is the better flyhalf.

@kaksioek(kaksioek)-3: I have to agree there. It’s must be very frustrating though considering how much work has been put into that halfback combination. But these things happen, all they can do is just keep rolling onwards.
