Flyhalf Pat Lambie trained with the Sharks on Monday but may not be risked for the coming clash with the Hurricanes.
Lambie took a knock to the jaw in the Sharks’ first tour match against the Waratahs, and it was later confirmed that he had sustained a dental injury. He sat out of last week’s game against the Brumbies, and may also miss Friday’s fixture in Wellington.
‘He [Lambie] is feeling a lot better, he trained with the team on Monday and looked really good, but we will make a decision on him later in the week, but if he’s not 100% he won’t be considered until the Blues game,’ said Sharks coach John Plumtree.
If Lambie doesn’t make sufficient progress, the Sharks are likely to stick with Freddie Michalak at No 10.
Meanwhile, Plumtree said that a few players picked up niggles in the game against the Brumbies. Bismarck du Plessis (quad), Steven Sykes (knee) and Odwa Ndungane (flu) all sat out of Monday’s training session.
