Brumbies back new halfbacks

Nic White and Christian Lealiifano will start at scrumhalf and flyhalf respectively when the Brumbies play the Reds on Friday.

Lealiifano shifts to No 10 after Matt Toomua sustained a season-ending injury in the previous match. White comes in for Ian Prior at No 9.

Pat McCabe has replaced Lealiifano at No 12 and Joe Tomane takes McCabe’s place on the wing.

Coach Jake White has made two other changes. Michael Hooper has been dropped to the bench, with White preferring a bigger back row for this match-up. Ita Vaea will start at No 7.

Prop Dan Palmer is back in the team after missing last week’s match against the Sharks due to illness.
