Edinburgh stun Toulouse to make semis

Edinburgh produced an upset 19-14 victory over Toulouse to progress to the European Cup semi-finals.

They are the first Scottish side to reach the last four of the tournament. Edinburgh had an early try by Mike Blair and a string of successful kicks from Greig Laidlaw to thank for the historic result, one achieved despite having two men sin-binned.

Toulouse led 14-10 at the break but their ill-discipline cost them as the Scots banked three penalties that proved to be the difference between the sides.

Meanwhile, in the day’s other play-off, Leinster completely outplayed Cardiff for a 34-3 victory. Leinster played with the pace and power of comparable to the elite sides in Super Rugby and the Blues simply had no response to their attack. They ran in four converted tries, with flyhalf Jonathan Sexton adding two penalties.

In Sunday’s fixtures, Munster host Ulster and Clermont travel to Saracens.

    @blueboy(blueboy)-1:
    The Scottish rugby Union needs to select the whole Edinburgh team and coaches for their national team Seems very logic
