Crusaders cleared of foul play

Crusaders cleared of foul play

Crusaders coach Todd Blackadder has demanded an apology from the Bulls after eye-gouging allegations against his team couldn’t be substantiated by the Super Rugby citing commissioner.

Bulls forwards Chiliboy Ralepelle and Flip van der Merwe complained to referee Jaco Peyper that they had been eye-gouged during their match in Pretoria, won 32-30 by the Bulls. Peyper used a white card to refer the incidents to the citing commissioner.

According to reports in New Zealand, the commissioner has reviewed the video footage of the incidents in question and found the Crusaders not guilty.

‘The citing commissioner has reviewed it and after that review there was nothing in the video footage that would point to the allegation being substantiated,’ Sanzar chief executive Greg Peters said.

‘The citing commissioner also found it interesting that the Bulls did not follow through with a complaint within the four-hour window after the game.’

After the game, Blackadder said he was ‘bemused’ at the allegations and demanded an apology if they were found to be incorrect. Following the citing commissioner’s ruling and after looking at the footage, the Crusaders coach wonders why the Bulls would have made such claims.

‘The first one with Chiliboy, you would expect that the player would come out of the breakdown holding his eye, but he certainly didn’t. I wonder whether it was a negative ploy.’

Captain Kieran Read also said that he was disappointed with the Bulls for accusing the Crusaders of such tactics.

‘Initially I was really surprised at the allegations,’ he said. ‘It has now come out that there’s no case to answer.

‘It’s a kick in the guts to us because we’re men of integrity and it’s no surprise that it’s turned out the way it has.’

it carries on, we felt it in 2007, you know Barnes, ref of the year according to Keo bloggers, that actually handed SA the RWC in 2007.
You will get over it Cab, trust me. 2015 is coming up very quick.
In no time at all, you will be blaming another country and ref and it starts all over again, oh well theres always 2019.

I’m not sure our kiwi friends should be lecturing us on crowd behaviour.

The despicable nature of some of their crowds have been well documented.

    Pathetic really.

Not really suprising that the kiwis would rather sweep their eye gouging under the carpet.

Most of them only have one anyway.

And then you have inbreds like Hurricane suggesting Flip and Chilli gouged each other.

    Honestly.

    Hurricane,

can u say hand on heart in all honesty that brycie blew a fair game in that 1/4 final – I’m convinced there’s a secret academy in nz for passing on subtle techniques on being the best crooks in the game – look at fitzy, cheater mccaw and even brycie – they look like choirboys – yet the greatest cheats in the game bar none. Damn I used to remember watching quick fingers fitzpatrick, I ain’t ever seen anything like it – the man was a god – loki god of deception.

Let me put it this way,

SA finished behind Togo who won ONE bronze.

We (NZ) finished with 14 medals across a variety sports.

But yeah you are right…………………………………………………like fook you are.

Anyway all this fighting on Easter Sunday is unseemly.

Hurri is right. I’m sure one of the Bulls mistook Chilli for a Crusaders player and gouged his eye.

When you say it out loud it sounds perfectly feasible.

hmmm….so two bulls players on either side of halftime complained to their captain who informed the ref?

and this leads to kiwi shrugs or denials?

    what a surprise.

the kiwis are filthy cheats and the most unsportsmanlike nation playing the game of rugby today, we saffas have had to deal with this for a century.

besides for that, they are individually wonderful people and i hope to travel their wonderful country one day.

its just taht rugby is their blindspot, it makes them completely indifferent to morals or any sense of self.

we must understand this and try to factor it into any consideration we enter into of their habits on the rugby field.

i am being dead serious here.
