Bulls give Saru green light
13 Apr 2012
The Bulls have allowed Saru to negotiate national appointments with several members of their management team.
It has been well documented over the past few months that Springbok head coach Heyneke Meyer was keen to recruit certain Bulls coaches as his new assistants.
Those targeted, however, had a price put on their heads by their employers. It was reported that the Bulls asked Saru for a R1 million transfer fee each for forwards coach Johan van Graan and fitness guru Basil Carzils, and R250 000 each for defence coach John McFarland and backline coach Ricardo Loubscher.
It seems that the two parties have agreed terms as it was jointly announced on Friday that Saru has been given permission to hold talks with the respective Bulls coaches.
Saru and the Bulls will also hold a press conference in Pretoria on Sunday to reveal more information. It is likely that Meyer’s management team will be named at this meeting.
