WESTERN CAPE

There are two major derbies in the Western Cape this weekend.

Boland Landbou will travel to Paul Roos in what will be a big Boland derby. The match will also serve as the curtain-raiser for the Baby Boks/Argentina clash on the Markotter fields. Both teams come off respectable showings at their respective Easter festivals, with Boland Landbou winning all three of their fixtures at the St Stithians event while Paul Roos won two and drew one at the Kearsney tournament. Expect a physical match.

In the southern suburbs, Rondebosch host Wynberg in a traditional Cape rivalry. The two schools experienced a successful tour to the UK, and will be keen to kick-off their season on South African soil on a winning note.

Paarl Boys’, who went unbeaten at the St John’s Easter Festival, go on the road to take on Outeniqua.

KZN

Out in the east, Glenwood host George Campbell in what should be an easy outing for the former. Glenwood impressed at the Kearsney Easter Festival with an unbeaten run.

Maritzburg College will host Pretoria Boys’, while DHS will challenge Westville, who will be desperate to bounce back after suffering two defeats at the Kearsney Festival last weekend.

EASTERN CAPE

The highlight match will be Nico Malan tackling Grey PE. Both sides are showing good early form this season, especially at the Graeme Rugby Weekend in March. Keep an eye out for the wings in this fixture, who boast some serious talent.

Dale will tackle Grens in Kings William Town in what should be an easy contest for the hosts.

Selborne will face Queen’s in big game.

    It’s taken DHS over 5 seasons to undo the damage that hack David Campese did to their rugby!

    @rugby_only(rugby_only)-2:

    No DHS parents spent hundreds of thousands of Rand on bringing him in as their director of rugby for at least two seasons… he was totally out of his depth and did a runner on them…under him they went from 50 pt snottings to 70 pt snottings…

    There’s a reason he’s never been handed a serious coaching position in Australia and was sacked as a 7′s adviser…
