Monnas suffer Nu Power exit

Monument’s nightmare season continued with a 22-13 Nu Power quarter-final defeat to Nelspruit.

Monument were one of the top school sides in the country in 2011, but they have endured a poor start to the current year. They lost all three of their fixtures at the Kearsney Easter Festival, as they were beaten by Glenwood (25-18), Paul Roos (40-8) and Grey Bloem (8-0).

They have now exited the Nu Power knock-out tournament at the quarter-final stage as they went down to Nelspruit.

In other results in the last eight, defending champions Waterkloof surged into the semi-finals with a 25-10 victory over HTS Middelburg. Florida downed Eldoraigne 30-20 to advance, while Centurion also cemented their place by downing Kempton Park 36-32.
