Bulls pin down Bok flyer

Wing Bjorn Basson has extended his contract with the Bulls until the end of 2014.

Basson has played an important role in the Bulls’ game plan since joining the union in 2011. He has already scored five tries in 2012, and the Bulls have moved quickly to secure his services for another two years.

‘Bjorn is most sought after because of his brilliant try-scoring feats and uncanny ability in the air,’ said Bulls coach Frans Ludeke. ‘It is great to have him staying on as part of our vision is to have a squad with world class players. With him staying, it means that we are one step closer to that goal.’

Basson said it wasn’t a difficult decision to remain in Pretoria.

‘There are no limits to what this team can achieve and I want to be part of that drive towards excellence,’ he said. ‘We have great structures, coaches and players at the Bulls and I am grateful to be part of such a team environment.

‘On a personal level I have set out definite goals in my career and I believe that the Bulls will be the best vehicle to help me achieve that.’

@stormersboy(stormersboy)-7: You could also have been mistaken for Jake White back when he was Bok coach.

Definitely going to get capped more this year and into the next few… consistently amongst the top-try scorers, excellent in the air, kicking has improved and so too his defence…

A few knocking on the door though, including Mvovo

Decent jumper. Only fast in open space. No threat to Habana.

The writer and coach involved here are sure liberal with their use of adjectives
“Bok flyer”, brilliant try-scoring feats and uncanny ability in the air.” Must be nice to read all the stuff about yourself. Luckily he doesn’t seem like the type of guy who will get an inflated ego from all this praise.
