Nizaam Carr will start at No 8 for the Stormers when they play the Force in Perth.
Coach Allister Coetzee has been forced to make a number of changes due to injuries. While Andries Bekker makes a timely return to lead the team, lock Eben Etzebeth has been ruled out of the contest with a shoulder problem. An injury to Duane Vermeulen (knee) will see Carr promoted to the starting line-up, and hooker Deon Fourie will provide loose forward cover on the bench.
Other changes to the starting team see Danie Poolman replacing the injured Gio Aplon on the wing. Frans Malherbe comes in for Brok Harris in the front row.
‘Our motto for the week is; nothing special has ever been achieved in ideal conditions,’ said Coetzee when asked about the challenge of beating the Force without so many of their first-choice players.
‘A win this week will be the difference between a good tour and a great one and this group knows that. We have picked a strong side, our sessions this week have been excellent and we will be going all out for a win in this game.’
The uncapped Don Armand, who arrived in Australia earlier this week, has been included on the bench.
