Are you guys picking fantasy teams or a team that is supposed to face the English. Did you see what they did against the Irish? Underestimate them at your own peril. Meyer won’t blood to many guys in the first game at least. He’s made his intentions quite clear with these talks about Victor and FduP making comebacks.

Also, JdV and Vermeulen won’t be back in time and the same might be true for Schalk.

New faces we can expect include Etsebeth, Elstadt, Jacques Potgieter, Vermaak, Goosen and Joe Pietersen. And they might not even be in the starting line up for the first game.

HM knows the Poms aren’t exactly the world beaters away from home, he plays that populist selection designed to appeal for the lower denumerator in SA , makes it looks something like ‘we are all Boks, everyone has a fair chance!’
The catch as always is it creating unfulfilled expectations that will bite HM back when he faces the real opposition: Wallabies and the ABs

@bananaboy(bananaboy)-92: Under current situation I'd select a team along the lines of #83 above with possible inclusion of JdV at 13 for mentorship and captaincy which would entail one of JPP, Aplon, Le Roux / Coetsee to go out or to bench. If you look at player depth at # 90 above we have sufficient depth for 4 Bok teams. Perhaps its time to reinvent trials and put these guys up against each other for places.

In this team #83 above would either make Bismark, Kolisi, Brussow or Bekker captain as there no one else suitable I start Oosthuizen at TH with Steenkamp at LH they'll handle the England FR with Malherbe and Beast off bench

@ashampoopaloo(joel1yahoo)-90: Skop, if you took out the arguments concerning skills as these can be acquired (asssumption) then on the basis of temperament, character, behaviours, nous etc who would you pick as a fifteen in their playing positions. In an International when the “**** hits the fan” you want super confident, level headed players who will back themselves. Who would yours be?
