Affies snap Boishaai’s winning streak

Affies handed Paarl Boys’ their first defeat of 2012 during day one of the Wildeklawer Super Schools in Kimberley.

Boishaai led early in the match, but the Pretoria school finished the first half strongly to hold on to a 10-8 lead at half-time. An impressive second half display saw Affies record a 22-14 win.

In other results, Paul Roos and Paarl Gym beat Maritzburg College (22-21) and Glenwood (35-25) respectively. However, both winning schools started their clashes strongly to build major leads, but had to hold on for victory as their opposition delivered strong fightbacks.

Grey Bloem continue to rebuild their year with a good 37-20 win over Waterkloof. The boys from Bloemfontein might have suffered their first loss in three years against Gimmies at the Kearsney Easter Festival, but they proved in this result that they are still a powerful outfit.

Monument recorded a 19-14 comeback win over Oakdale, while their were also triumphs for Boland Landbou, Framesby, EG Jansen and hosts Diamantveld.
