Saders sweat on Maitland

Sean Maitland will face a late fitness test ahead of the Crusaders’ clash against the Reds on Sunday.

The winger is struggling with an ankle injury and has been bracketed with Adam Whitelock in the starting line-up. If Maitland is ruled out, Whitelock’s promotion will be the Crusaders’ only change to their run-on side.

This sees Dan Carter remain at inside centre, while flank Richie McCaw’s slow introduction to the 2012 season continues as he features among the reserves for the second consecutive week.

    Maitland – endurance; tactical awareness & a Great running style

    Has to start for the AB’s this year. Maitland 14 & 11 Richard Kahui (he’s from another planet)

    My favourite running style of any current player – Sitiveni Sivivatu

    Running styles aye…that would make an interesting thread…of all time, have to go with Roger Randel and current…..ahh…..Jose Gear, perhaps……the ugliest would definitely be Conrad Smith.

    The closest that SA had to the languid style of some of NZ’s backs is Andre Joubert (former Bok fullback)
    But I tell you, the likes of roy kinikinilau, josevata rokocoko and sivi never looked like they were trying to sprint.
    I liked how rico gear sort of tucked his head in a little bit

    Gio Aplon has quite a fluid running style as well

    Cullen was the most fluid in full flight in my opinion

    Rupeni at his peak also was fluid,easy easy running style.

    Mark Gerrard as well at his peak for the Brumbies

    Ian Balshaw in NH also had languid Cullen-esque running style.

    Sivi was just on auto-pilot 24/7

    Yeah agreed,Conrad Smith looks terrible,probably the poorest athlete Ive ever seen in a black jersey-especially in backs…hell of a rugby player though.
