SuperSport will broadcast two major schoolboy games on Saturday – the Paarl Gym–Paul Roos and Affies–Grey Bloem clashes.
The two matches will headline this weekend’s round of 1st XV fixtures.
Paarl Gym will host Paul Roos in a Western Cape derby. The two schools have impressed against the top teams around the country. However, Paul Roos have been inconsistent in over the last few weeks, with defeats to Grey PE (23-19) and Tygerberg (22-20).
Paarl Gym have only suffered one defeat (against Affies) this year, and are in great form as they come off big wins over Tygerberg (75-3) and Bishops (57-3).
The game in Paarl will be televised on SS5 at 11:50am.
Affies also host a highly-anticipated clash against Grey Bloem, which was a fixture that was rained out last year. Affies have suffered two defeats this year (against Waterkloof and Paul Roos), but come off a good 34-11 win over Pretoria Boys’ in the annual Pretoria Derby.
Grey Bloem lost their three-year winning streak against Paarl Gym at the Kearsney Easter Festival, but have won all their other games in 2012. They come off a 54-5 win against Selborne last weekend and will be aiming for a major away scalp against Affies.
The match in Pretoria will be televised on SS1 at 2:45pm.
