in an attempt to ensure Kitshoff was correctly managed. It was hoped that Kitshoff would face the Bulls at Loftus Versfeld this week, and then sit out of the Baby Boks’ first game against Ireland.

Now tell me how in hell that is managing him correctly?? To risk him getting injured in what will be another tough mattch for the Stormers so he misses out on the IRB junior world Champs? A once in a lifetime opportunity. Sit out the match vs Irealnd?

Secondly who is the one who has played him into the ground week after week when he has able replacement like Deon Carstens. Obviously Kitshoff is in the in form prop but its not like he doesnt have options and he could have rotated Kitshoff at various stages to not run him into the ground. He has done the same with Etzebeth, Becker, Kolisi, Vermeulen and arguably Liebenberg and Brok Harris too. Then he wants to talk drivel about managing players? He is ruining perfectly great players by not having options or not wanting to exercise his options. I mean honestly is De Kock Steenkamp that much worse than Becker? I think not. He could have swopped him out as a starting lock for either Etzebeth or Becker a few times with the other on the bench.

Just read the Peter De VIliers article in the Sunday Argus about his book.

Aparently Cheeky took a room opposite Snor in a hotel in Wellington NZ and said he was sent to NZ to pass a message from the Minister of Sport, Stofile. The gist of the message was that Stofile was unhappy with the way Div was treating Luke as were other politicians back home.

When Div got back home he was summons by Stofile for a meeting. Div assumed it would be because he kept on benching Luke.
To Div surprise Stofile had not seen or heard of Cheeky in a year. But the actual reason for being summons was because Div was selecting FDP ahead of Rickie.

These exchanges are really sick….But then again so are most of the SA rugby press (mostly based in CPT). When the Stormers win we are subjected to analysis about why the Stormers players/coachea are “the best”….but when they get handed their asses like they were on Sat…silence about why/who…but most of all, I detect creeping panic that – once again – the Stormers will choke and end up as only SA’s # 3 team. Watch the Press next Sunday morning after the Bulls maul the Weepies too. I relish the grovelling that will have to take place. Of course, it will be the U20 selectors fault and injuries (I’m sorry, did the Stormers play more matches than everybody else ?).
