Butch back for Lions

Butch back for Lions

Butch James has returned to the Lions’ starting line-up for their match against the Sharks after serving his four-week suspension.

James was banned for a dangerous charge on a Brumbies player during the Lions’ loss to Aussie side last April. He was found guilty at a disciplinary hearing and missed the team’s recent tour to Australasia. With Jaco Taute out with a shoulder injury, the veteran slots back into the No 12 jersey for the clash at Ellis Park on Saturday.

There are two other changes in the run-on side. In the pack, lock Hendrik Roodt is promoted to the second row in place of Ruan Botha, who is on international duty with the Baby Boks. In the backline, wing Anthonie Volminck is rotated with Michael Killian.

Centre Waylon Murray appears on the bench after a long injury layoff.
