Trouble brewing for Elstadt

Stormers flank Rynhardt Elstadt received an off-field yellow card following the match against the Bulls at Loftus.

Elstadt was punished for a 59th minute incident where he grabbed Akona Ndungane by the hair and forcefully pulled for a short period of time.

It is Elstadt’s third yellow card of the campaign and he will now appear before judicial officer. It is likely he will receive a ban, further depleting the injury-hit Stormers.

There was also an off-field yellow for Bulls flank Arno Botha whose tackle on Bryan Habana in the 59th minute was deemed to be dangerous.

@stormer in a teacup. I think you misunderstood me.. What Im saying is that if your hair hangs down below your shoulders in an area where you may grab his jersey legally, but his hair is in the way, you should be able to grab his hair and his jersey simultaneously. Not because you want to grab his hair, but you have no choice because his hair is in the way.

After the test break Elstadt can sit out his ban and rethink his playing style. He really has been dirty this year.

But no problem, our loosies will then be Duane at 8, Schalla at 7 and Siya at 6. Brilliant.

@scrumchum(phearlessphred)-51: fair enough, only elstadt had two handfulls of his hair, from the top of his head :)

he deserved what he got, and is probably in for a bit of a rest. better now, than later, he’s still young. he needs to focus his energies on the legal side of the game. he could be a great player.

Nothing wrong – every great rugby team needs one with a bit of a streak – wp been missing once since days of Keith Andrews, gary pagel and toks. All great teams have them bakkies, mark andrews, matin johnson, julian white, brad thorne. richard lowe, etc etc.

Tut tut elstadt meanwhile back at the ranch that’s why they beating bulls these days – no more intimidation.

Elstadt has been a cynical, dirty player since his age group days but pulling someones hair – really.

He must have thought he was dishing out justice back on the farm.

It was really stupid of Elstadt. A case of misplaced aggresion.

Did anyone see the very dangerous tackle from Arno Nobody on Habana though. Lifting him and smashing his head into the ground while Habana was calling for a mark! And Kaplan said he did’nt think it was dangerous! What a joke!
