Wallabies wait on Beale

Berrick Barnes will continue at No 10 for Australia although it is hoped that Kurtley Beale will play some part in the second Test against Wales.

Barnes started for the Wallabies in the first Test in Brisbane, and is likely to retain the No 10 jersey for the game in Melbourne. There is a chance that Beale could move to the bench, that is if he can recover sufficiently from a shoulder injury.

The Melbourne Rebels player is also under investigation by the Australian Rugby Union following an incident outside a Brisbane hotel last week. If Beale is found guilty of misconduct, he could be excluded from the Wallabies match 22 on those grounds.

The only likely change to the starting XV for this week’s clash will see tighthead prop Dan Palmer replacing Sekope Kepu, who has a strained forearm.

Meanwhile, Robbie Deans has asked Brumbies and former Springbok coach Jake White to observe the Wallabies’ training sessions this week.
