Elstadt suspended
13 Jun 2012
Rynhardt Elstadt will miss the Stormers’ next match against the Lions after accumulating three yellow cards.
Elstadt picked up his third yellow card in the most recent Super Rugby clash against the Bulls on 2 June. According to a statement from Sanzar, he has been banned for one match.
In his finding, Judicial Officer Mike Heron considered the circumstances of all three yellow cards, including the respective reports and footage of each incident, and discussed the same with the player and his lawyer Frikkie Erasmus.
It was accepted that the first two incidents were not serious incidents of foul play and his explanations of those were accepted. The last incident (combined with the fact it was the third yellow card) was a matter which required further penalty in the view of Heron.

I just think Elstadt is misunderstood… He is not as dirty as some think…just hard like Bakkies…

@Gumboots(Gumboots)-101: Note where the ‘bandwagon’ jumpers are coming from though mate? From positions lower than ours on the S15 log…..
If Elstadt played for the Bulls or Sharks he would be receiving praise from all territories beyond the Republic of CT.
Every single one of the critics would rather have him playing for them, than against them. That said, he deserved a little warning, and now is as good a time as any.

I wish I was a fisherman
tumblin’ on the seas
Far away from dry land
and its bitter memories
Casting out my sweet line
with abandonment and love
No ceiling bearin’ down on me
Save the starry sky above
With light in my head
you in my arms
The Waterboys and one of the all time greats…………………………………Fishermans Blues.

Ship of Fools… hehehe, very applicable .
His cover of “Purple Rain” is also brilliant, not many people can cover Prince.

Loved the Pagan Place album… and the song… very apt both here on keo and life in general… when considering all the slings and arrows we all fling at each other…
Who shot the arrow?
How high did it fly?
When he tipped it
With poison
Did he even know why?
What unseen hand
Brought him
Face to face to face to face with
All this and more
In a pagan place?
13 Jun 2012, 12:10 pm
suspended for hair pulling?
that’s so ***.

@Gumboots(Gumboots)-114:
hehe.. rather not, i guess.
I am not usually a fan of Prince’s music but as a musician there is not many who come even close. He could have been a Hendrix if he wanted to – or a Jagger- the bugger can do anything without trying very hard.

@ufo(ufo)-120:
true.
it is a laugh. even the fools who believe themselves ‘serious’.
i’m amazed the springboks even win anything at all with the kind of loony fractured supporters they have.

bakkies was always clean in the way he played dirty.
hard but fair.
very good christian values for the most part.
you would never find bakkies grab a man by the hair. he would take you properly but hard.

*Forgive the long post…
Well here we are in a special place
What are you gonna do here?
Now we stand in a special place
What will you do here?
What show of soul are we gonna get from you?
It could be deliverance, or history
Under these skies so blue
Could be something true
But if I know you you’ll bang the drum
Like ******* do
Here we are in a fabulous place
What are you gonna dream here?
We are standing in this fabulous place
What are you gonna play here?
I know you love the high life, you love to leap around
You love to beat your chest and make your sound
But not here man – this is sacred ground
With a Power flowing through
And if know you you’ll bang the drum
Like ******* do
Here we stand on a rocky shore
Your father stood here before you
I can see his ghost explore you
I can feel the sea implore you
Not to pass on by
Not to walk on by
And not to try
Just to let it come
Don’t bang the drum
Just let it come
Don’t bang the drum
Just let it come
Don’t bang the drum
Do you know how to let it come now?
Don’t bang the drum
Just let it come now…
Don’t bang the drum…
Don’t bang the drum
Don’t bang the drum
Don’t bang the drum
Don’t bang the drum
Don’t bang the drum
Don’t bang the drum
Don’t bang the drum
Don’t bang the drum
Don’t bang the drum

If Elstadt wasn’t playing for WP he would have got a few matches suspension!
It’s rare (and unwaranted) that WP players get off scott free so often.

Can someone please explain why some suspensions are for a number of games, and others, for a specific length of time (eg – 3 weeks)?

Hair pulling in any sport is the mark of a coward.

@rangerman(rangerman)-39:
Oh please, sometimes your anti stormers hatred gets a little tiresome.
The incident happenned right on the line, everyone diving in flatout and Elsatdt was grabbing and holding anything he could at that point in time. Are you saying he targeted the hair? I very much doubt it, yes he grabbed hair in the heat of battle and that is unfortunate, but that could have been anyone in that situation.
I have absolutely no doubt that you would have defended a Sharks player in the same situation.
15 Jun 2012, 01:19 am
@Sharks fans are genuine Bok supporters. Stormers support England.(Predawn)-141:
So is slapping someone and then running away like the Dr Du Plessis…..faaking girl should be playing netball!
