Williams crocked

All Blacks lock Ali Williams faces an extended period on the sidelines after sustaining a knee injury in Saturday’s Test against Ireland.
Williams will not be replaced in the squad for the final Test in Hamilton, with Luke Romano expected to be elevated to the bench.
Head coach Steve Hansen said: ‘Ali will be going in for an operation this week on his knee. He has got some articular cartilage damage in his right knee which has been causing him some problems,’ adding the second rower faces a ‘six to eight weeks minimum’ lay off.

Ali doesn’t belong at Test level anymore. Ditto Piri Weepu. Hansen better act now instead of learning this lesson in the 4N

I think Hansen had to take a few old heads into this series with Ireland, just to help with preparation etc. in saying that, yep, it’s time to jettison Williams, Weepu & possibly Guilford who just doesn’t seem capable at the highest level.
