Dagg doubtful for Kiwi derby

Israel Dagg sustained an ankle injury in last Saturday’s Test and is unlikely to play in the Crusaders’ match against the Hurricanes.

Dagg sprained his ankle in the All Blacks’ massive win over Ireland. If he is not cleared for the coming match against the Hurricanes, coach Todd Blackadder may look to Tom Marshall to fill the void at fullback.

The Crusaders may also be without All Blacks Dan Carter (hamstring) and Kieran Read (head knock), who missed the recent Test in Hamilton with injuries.

And so the injuries continue to mount, this S15 structure is going to come back to haunt SANZAR the end of this year.

    Yes and no.

Some players who had niggles have had an opportunity to get over it. Other have been injured, it could have happened during training.

The bigger question for me is whether the buzz of Test footy will leave a few players flat returning to the S15 and we see disjointed performances.

Blackadder can’t be happy. He had fit players before the international break, now he has problems.
