Elsom Japan bound
27 Jun 2012
Reports in Australia indicate Rocky Elsom will continue his career in Japan.
This means Elsom has played his last game in Australia for now, a injury ruling him out of the Waratahs’ final matches of the Super Rugby campaign. The Sydney Morning Herald reports he is set to announce a two-year deal with Japanese side Kobe Steel soon.
The newspaper also details that the Steelers will allow Elsom to play in Europe between January and July next year and 2014. French giants Stade Francais and Toulouse are believed to be the clubs in serious contention.

The Tahs got their more of their moneys worth than the Brumbies did at least, where Elsom only played 20 minutes of rugby in 2011 before injuring himself again.
@kaksioek(kaksioek)-3: Depends on the terms of his contract, I suppose. If he is being paid on a pro-rata basis, the Steelers have picked up a bargain.
And they could promise to allow him to play for whoever they want during the Japanese offseason, because they can be fairly confident he isn’t going to actually get on the field at any point
