Brumbies keep it steady
5 Jul 2012
The Brumbies have named an unchanged team to face the Waratahs this weekend.
Head Coach Jake White said his side had prepared well through the week and was now ready to take on the Waratahs in Sydney. ‘At this stage there’s still a lot of rugby left for us, potentially we still have four games to play so in that regard it’s great to have been able to keep the same team together,’ White said.
‘To be fair to those boys they had a very strong first half last Saturday night. They’ve got 1069 Super Rugby caps and probably 400 Test caps, 11 Wallabies and they are a formidable opponent. Even though they’ve made some changes to their halves, they still have Wallabies on the bench and will pose a massive challenge for us.
‘We’ve got to focus on executing well, doing the things we’ve done well all year both defensively and in attack and things should take care of themselves.’
Brumbies – 15. Robbie Coleman, 14. Henry Speight, 13. Andrew Smith, 12. Pat McCabe, 11. Jesse Mogg, 10. Zack Holmes, 9. Nic White, 8. Ben Mowen, 7. Michael Hooper, 6. Peter Kimlin, 5. Sam Carter, 4. Scott Fardy, 3. Dan Palmer, 2. Stephen Moore, 1. Ben Alexander
Subs: 16. Anthony Hegarty, 17. Ruaidhri Murphy, 18. Leon Power, 19. Ita Vaea, 20. Ian Prior, 21. Tevita Kuridrani, 22. Cam Crawford

Jake’s dragons marching on.
If Jakes sticks around for another two or so seasons this Brumbies team will once again be a force in Super rugga

@Blitzbok(Blitzbok)-2: Deans is a great attacking coach and will get it right

@Blitzbok(Blitzbok)-2: Well, can you imagine being the first coach to win Bill with two different countries?
Now that would be something special…and enough to put Skopskiet’ndonner (aka Louis Schropnel) into the nearest looney bin.

The piece above is refering to the Brumbies.
Here needs to be a space here Ryan and mention the Waratahs. Then you dive into the piece below.

@Sasuke(Sasuke)-7: Think that whole bit is still part of a quote from Jake about the Tahs.
Last Saturday night would be referring to their game against the Hurricanes, so Jake’s being fairly generous with his praise there
The rest of what he’s said is right though. They have a lot more experience in their 22 than the Brumbies, and haven’t lost to the Brumbies in Sydney since the 2002 semi final.
Brumbies will have to look to rattle that halves pairing early, to stop them getting any ball out wide to Mitchell, Turner and Ashley-Cooper.
Have your say
