Wonder if some Bulls dragon scouts also attended this week?

@willievz(willievz)-1: Of course. Fatty van Graan’s foot soldiers set up marquee’s at tournies like this. They offer cars, payment of school fees, tekkies, women, wine and song with a dash of ‘we are family’ and ‘Kumbaya’ on the side…..
What kid can resist
Good thing now though is, the foot soldiers HAVE to inform the WPRFU when they approach a player. Indeed the player can still trek up north, BUT: at least the home union will be aware of what is happening, and can plan accordingly. I.e: 18 year old Barend is going to the Bulls when he finishes school. WP know this. Barend is a top flanker, but there are 6 others of similar class, with Barend ‘just’ pipping the other 6 for talent. Barend will not be playing Craven Week, nor will he be attending any Stormer camps – as the WPRFU will be focusing on the 6 who are staying
Bad luck Barend.

@The Sharks rugby pedigree is packaged by Mad Eye Productions.(The Sharks rugby pedigree is packaged as dog food)-2:
They also offer guaranteed Bok spots to the young men who move to Pretoria at senior level.
Someone posted yesterday that they are the illuminati. Given the current relationship between the Bulls and the Boks, I have to agree with this blogger.

@willievz(willievz)-3: Oops. That would have been me, I said that. Glad you agree with that at least
BUT: as I said above, at least the various unions will be able to maintain some sort of control, and a degree of forward planning (which hasn’t been the case up until now).
I know many have said these new SARU regulations are toothless and that kid’s will still leave unions etc, and yes that will be the case. Kids will go where their parents want them to
If A, B and C are leaving the WPRFU will know – and can at least counter these losses by investing less in those buggering off, and MORE in those who are staying.

@willievz(willievz)-1: i hope this answers your question
“Pollard has caught the eye of many keen schoolboy rugby followers,< including Springbok coach Heyneke Meyer, who first saw the player at the U16 Grant Khomo Week.
‘This year we will see many top schoolboy flyhalves emerge. Handré is one of them,’ says Meyer. ‘He has a good rugby brain and has the physical attributes too [Pollard stands at 1.89m and weighs 95kg]. If he continues doing well, he’ll play for the Springboks one day.’

@Transformation(Transformation)-5:
And now we know why Heyneke pushed Dawie Theron into selecting Pollard for the Bay Boks squad

@Transformation(Transformation)-5: You mean if he moves to the Bulls (check), he will play for the Springboks one day

@Transformation(Transformation)-10: Brilliant result for the EP. They were red hot last year as well.

@Transformation(Transformation)-10: Congrats Transie.
I feel the same way about Griquas’ u/13 side this year.
Coached by Dale Adam – a very good coach.

c’mon guys… let it rest…
people are really beginning to sound like paranoid schizophrenics here…
think everyone is missing of very important point about all this…
sure heyneke may have met a whole bunch of youngsters and sure he may have said they will be a bok one day…
but at the time he met these guys… he was NOT the bok coach and had no ideas he would be the bok coach..
all he was doing was showing the faith and confidence in the structures he has set up in pretoria that IF these guys joined the bulls they would have a better then equal chance of becoming boks…
nothing sinister in that at all… what should he have said… ‘if you join the bulls you’ll never be a bok…’ or ‘well if you’re lucky and gamble on us maybe if the chips fall right and you play your cards right you could become a bok’
no… he said… as any mentor would… ‘stick with me kid… i’ll take you to the top’… perfectly normal and understandable…
chillax about all this now… it is getting ridiculous…

same way unethical unprotected blind horse trading sunk the US economic market stability and subsequently the rest of the over zealous profiteering world … so will it do in a micro economic system which trades rugby talent as its resource ..
if there are no checks and balances to open unscrupulous dealing and trading in any sphere whether it be elephant tusks or abalone shells the resource gets stolen for unethical gain by others who have not had to foster and nurture or develop it from source.

@fitz1ella(fitz1ella)-15:
of course… and i’m not suggesting there shouldn’t be checks and balances…
simply making the point that those who believe heyneke is using his position to lure kids to the bulls are way off the mark as he was not the bok coach when he chatted to most of these kids…
i also think unions could insist on players signing lock-in clauses which are pretty standard in business if a company is going to pay for an employee’s development or further education then they can lock them in for an agreed to period to ensure the company does at least get the minimum back for it’s investment…

Western Province scored 2 tries and 2 penalty goals against the 3 penalty goals of the Bulls in the unofficial U/18 Academy final in Wellington today. At the break the Bulls were leading 6 – 3. The Bulls’ flyhalf missed one penalty kick, while Jean – Luc du Plessis missed the 2 conversion attempts as well as 3 penalty goals. 2 of the missed penalty goals were roundabout the 10 metre line of the Bulls and the one conversion was about 5 metres from the touchline. The other one was much easier but he hit the posts. He should have goaled at least the one conversion and one extra penalty kick. J-L kicked 2 penalties and the tries were scored by the hooker Arno van Wyk of Boland Agric and Jarred Sage of Wynberg. Province jou lekka ding !!!

MR VIDEO offered me a wickedly good contract, but I turned it down because it didn’t come close to what the Bulls put on the table..
