Lobbe to lead Pumas
10 Jul 2012
Flank Juan Martin Fernandez Lobbe will captain Argentina in the upcoming Rugby Championship.
The 30-year-old Lobbe replaces regular skipper Felipe Contepomi, who recently led Argentina in the series against France. Contepomi has retired from international rugby and won’t be available for the Rugby Championship.
The Pumas are hoping to field a full strength squad in this competition, having negotiated release for the players based at clubs in Europe. They will begin the Rugby Championship with two Tests against the Springboks before facing the All Blacks and Wallabies later in the tournament.

Lobbe is a class player and always leads by example. Good choice as captain.

Can’t wait to see Pumas in action vs Big Three. It would be nice to see them winning at least one game.
