Steenkamp in for Bulls

Wilhelm Steenkamp has replaced Flip van der Merwe in the only change to the Bulls starting side for their derby against the Lions at Loftus on Saturday.

Van der Merwe was ruled out earlier this week, but Steenkamp is an experienced and competent replacement. Flank Deon Stegmann comes onto the bench after recovering from a broken arm suffered earlier in the season.

Bulls coach Frans Ludeke said flank Jacques Potgieter will provide cover at lock.

Bulls - 15 Zane Kirchner, 14 Akona Ndungane, 13 JJ Engelbrecht, 12 Wynand Olivier, 11 Bjorn Basson, 10 Morné Steyn, 9 Francois Hougaard, 8 Pierre Spies (c), 7 Jacques Potgieter, 6 Dewald Potgieter, 5 Juandre Kruger, 4 Wilhelm Steenkamp, 3 Werner Kruger, 2 Chiliboy Ralepelle, 12 Dean Greyling.
Subs: 16 Willie Wepener, 17 Frik Kirsten, 18 Deon Stegmann, 19 CJ Stander, 20 Jano Vermaak, 21 Louis Fouché, 22 Francois Venter.

Uhm, no posts yet… Are the bullies fearing a possible upset? Or are the PK lions fearing another p@esklap and a 2 / 15 record? I would prefer a draw

    what’s the thinking?
not enough grunt from flip or do the coaches think a fetcher will make the difference?

@galileo, roundness, union, coach…(i_love_u_bakkiesbotha)-2: if ludeke is thinking of yanking dewalt & covering lock with jpotgieter then he is dumber than i thought! dewalt, jj & chili were the 3 players who left guppyville with their dignities in tact last friday!

    Once again.
    The fickleness.
Why is everyone else panicking on the Bull’s behalf.

A very good win against the Lions.
And everyone will be fearing the Bulls again – come playoff /semi’s.
You’d think if the Bulls go to CC there can only be one winner. You’d think?

And if they do win. Who would want to face them then?

Save the christmascrackers for a while. Even until after this weekend.
Nothing is decided until the fat lady springs.

Hope they win but no bonus point. If they finish no 6 on the log the can travel to Canberra rather than Christchurch. If they get over that hurdle it is a semi in Cape Town.

That is, also hoping Sharks get the bonus point victory.
