Bok duo bolster Sharks
12 Jul 2012
Willem Alberts and Pat Lambie return for the Sharks’ decisive match against the Cheetahs at Kings Park.
Both missed last week’s win over the Bulls through injury. Alberts plays from the wood with Marcell Coetzee retaining his place at blindside flank. Lambie starts at fullback in place of Louis Ludik, who drops to the bench.
Elsewhere, lock Pieter-Steph du Toit has been bracketed in with Jean Deysel amongst the reserves, as have the backline duo of Meyer Bosman and Paul Jordaan. Jandre Marais will start in the second row.
Sharks – 15. Patrick Lambie, 14. JP Pietersen, 13. Tim Whitehead, 12. Francois Steyn, 11. Lwazi Mvovo, 10. Frederic Michalak, 9. Charl McLeod, 8. Ryan Kankowski, 7. Marcell Coetzee, 6. Keegan Daniel (c), 5. Anton Bresler, 4. Jandre Marais, 3. Jannie du Plessis, 2. Craig Burden, 1. Tendai Mtawarira.
Subs: 16. Bismarck du Plessis, 17. Wiehahn Herbst, 18. Pieter-Steph du Toit / Jean Deysel, 19. Willem Alberts, 20. Jacques Botes, 21. Meyer Bosman / Paul Jordaan, 22. Louis Ludik

@Kietzphat(Kietzphat)-1: Pity these two human momuments to awesomeness didn’t play against the Lions….wait….

The backline looks dangerous. It takes the sharks the whole season to get it right !!!

plum has picked SIX loosies in this team plus bissy on the bench, can you say “DOMINATE THE COLLISIONS”?
the cheetahs better keep ball-in-hand and stop this nonsense of just shuffling the ball down the backline only for their wing to run out of real estate.

@Transformation(Transformation)-6:
Plum picking Deysel as a backup lock but I know what you mean.
I suppose when you pick a 5 – 2 bench its always in an effort to dominate the collisions.

@galileo, roundness, union, coach…(i_love_u_bakkiesbotha)-12:
No way he will be allowed to play. Not even Sanzar can be that inconsistent.
12 Jul 2012, 16:54 pm
word has it that frans steyn will play in the rest of the sharks games this season.
it seems he signed with the sharks under some kind of special arrangemant with racing who released him early.
thats how you run a pro franchise stormersaders.

@wpjoulekkading(wpjoulekkading)-13:
looks like we spoke too soon hehe
@rangerman(rangerman)-14:
if true then well done to the sharks for doing their homework.
frans steyn is the killer instinct you’ve been needing in midfield all season long.
12 Jul 2012, 17:06 pm
@rangerman(rangerman)-14: is this wishful thinking?
when steyn signed with the sharks on 29th May, which of the 35 players the sharks are allowed to contract at the beginning of the season was injured?
12 Jul 2012, 17:10 pm
@Transformation(Transformation)-16: marius jouba.
he signed late march actually.
the zululand grapevine is not a bad source when peter hazard still has farms there.
12 Jul 2012, 17:24 pm
@rangerman(rangerman)-14: Man I hope you’re right!
12 Jul 2012, 17:28 pm
@rangerman(rangerman)-17: that’s interesting, because on 28th may when brian van zyl and plumtree announced that francois has signed with the sharks for three years marius joubert was fit hence he was named on the bench for the sharks to face the lions at ellis park.
let’s see how this pans out…

Foolish for SA rugby to have Bissy anywhere near the bench. If he had an actual arthroscopy as printed on tuesday, he should be out for minimum 4 weeks.
Anyway, hope sharks have 4 tries by 45 minutes and Burden has the game of his life. That way Bissy can rightully rest.
Idiot Plumtree.
I don’t think the playoffs are worth the injury.
12 Jul 2012, 18:14 pm
@BULLET(BULLET)-21: plumtree would not play him if he is injured, dont believe everything you read in the press,
12 Jul 2012, 21:51 pm
ok ok, i was only joshing about fransie lol.
and i dont know peter hazard.
i was stirring, i admit it

12 Jul 2012, 22:38 pm
@Transformation(Transformation)-24: haha, i wanted to see the stormers fans get all hot under the collar but it seems no one was interested

@rangerman(rangerman)-26:
Surely you’ve got something better to do, like watch paint dry maybe?
Just a suggestion.
Have your say
