Tomane returns for Brumbies

Joe Tomane will start against the Blues while the powerfully built Fotu Auelua will feature on the Brumbies bench.

Tomane has recovered from an ankle injury and will take his place on the wing. This sees Jesse Mogg moving to fullback and Robbie Coleman dropping to the bench.

Auelua returns to the squad after recovering from a hamstring injury. Coach Jake White has opted to stick with the same back row that started against the Waratahs last week.

Brumbies – 15 Jesse Mogg, 14 Henry Speight, 13 Andrew Smith, 12 Pat McCabe, 11 Joe Tomane, 10 Zack Holmes, 9 Nic White, 8 Ben Mowen (c), 7 Michael Hooper, 6 Peter Kimlin, 5 Sam Carter, 4 Scott Fardy, 3 Dan Palmer, 2 Stephen Moore, 1 Ben Alexander.
Subs: 16 Anthony Hegarty, 17 Ruaidhri Murphy, 18 Leon Power, 19 Fotu Auelua, 20 Ian Prior, 21 Tevita Kuridrani, 22 Robbie Coleman.

    These dragons are justifiably third in the table now, not due to a ridiculous system. Well done Jake White and his no-name players.

    @HongKongSlong(HongKongSlong)-1: The Canes, who played Crusaders and Chiefs twice might disagree. Brumbies missed out on Stormers and Crusaders this year

    The brumbies must be very happy with Jake – glad to see his comeback

    “justifiably” :-)
    It took months for that to happen. Gotta say the Aus conference is dodgy

    @gonzo(gonzo)-3: Agreed, but having said that, look at the top two combined log leaders who (as far as I know) didn’t play against each other this year. A result one way or the other would’ve blown the fight for home semis (and playoff contention) even wider open.

    @viewer(viewer)-5:

    I think the stormer and bulls got a leg up to the top from both the Cheetahs and Lions. which other conference gets a leg up like this.
    look at if the stormers or the bulls lost one game to either the lions or the cheetahs…where would that leave them!! did not the stormers miss out on playing the chiefs????

    the easy conference is west of perth!!!
