Foley to train with Wallabies
16 Jul 2012
Waratahs flyhalf Bernard Foley has been named in the initial Wallabies training squad for the Rugby Championship.
With the league stage of Super Rugby completed, Wallabies coach Robbie Deans has picked a 27-man training squad ahead of the quadrangular international tournament that will begin on 18 August.
The squad will gather for a three-day camp in Sydney next week. No Reds players have been included at this stage, as they are still involved in the Super Rugby play-offs.
Foley is one of four uncapped players in the training squad, and will provide cover at flyhalf. Wing Nick Cummins, centre Mitch Inman and prop Paddy Ryan are the others in the group who are yet to represent the Wallabies.
Drew Mitchell and Lachie Turner return from injuries after missing the June Tests. However, James O’Connor (hamstring injury) hasn’t been included and is likely to miss the first match against New Zealand.
Wallabies training squad – Kurtley Beale, Adam Ashley-Cooper, Drew Mitchell, Lachie Turner, Nick Cummins, Cooper Vuna, Rob Horne, Mitch Inman, Pat McCabe, Bernard Foley, Berrick Barnes, Nick Phipps, Nic White, Ben Mowen, David Pocock, Michael Hooper, Dave Dennis, Kane Douglas, Cadeyrn Neville, Hugh Pyle, Sitaleki Timani, Sekope Kepu, Benn Robinson, Ben Alexander, Paddy Ryan, Stephen Moore, Tatafu Polota-Nau.

What the Australians lack in playing talent & player depth, they compensate for it with astute coaching & the use of cutting edge sports science.

Stephen Moore should start ahead of Polota-Nau. He is a more rounded hooker.
