Sadie to quit Bulls?

Johann Sadie has asked the Bulls to be released from his current contract.
According to SuperSport.com, the former Stormers centre has expressed his wish to continue his career elsewhere. This after spending just seven months at the Pretoria franchise, that has him held to a two-year contract that reportedly pays R1.4 million a season.
It has been a frustrating period for the 23-year-old as he has struggled with injury and poor form. This has seen him fail to land a regular place in the Bulls’ match 22 since limping off in the 13th minute during the team’s Super Rugby opener against the Sharks.
Bulls head coach Frans Ludeke confirmed that Sadie could make an early transfer.
‘We are very aware of Johan’s situation and his future and he is concerned that he isn’t getting the playing opportunities he needs because of injuries. He wants to get onto the field to establish himself but is worried he can’t at the moment,’ said Ludeke.
‘We will always look at a player’s situation and take it to heart. We will always consult with the player and take the best decision for his career going forward. We have given him the green light to look at other options to see if he can get better playing opportunities at other provinces.’

Just wait ’till Tacitus gets hold of this. He’ll go from being an “automatic” Bok to an “overrated should never have come” instantly.
We’ll take him back I’m sure but we shouldn’t have to pay a premium for him. It’s not our problem he ran off at the slightest hint of an automatic start.

Sometimes when the guys spend a lot of time in the gym and put on a significant amount of muscle (as Sadie has reportedly done) they become more prone to injury as the tendons etc have not adapted sufficiently. Also flexibility sometimes goes out of the window,
It’s not always the best thing.

Good move for everyone involved.
This will give Sadie the gametime he desires – elswhere – and give us 1.4m a year to offer to someone else.
We could have used that 1.4m to keep CJ Stander

learn how to play with Joie de vivre and have fun on a rugby field and also get away from the influences that are pushing/guiding him and learn a little bit about life away from the cloistered environment he seems to have grown up in…
then come back to SA and fight for a place…

Lol, after the hair job his fringe is marginally better. My gripe with Dale is that he had too much to say before the series even started including that no england player will command a place in the proteas team (same as Jake white did some years ago to Ireland).

I always rated him since I saw him scoring a magic try for tukkies against maties in a varsity cup match (a few years ago) within minutes of coming off the bench. It is a pity he does not get more game time but with Gio and Bryan playing well it is a tough one. I hope they extend his contract.

Rathbone was good enough to play SA U/20 (?), and yet when he started training in Aus they were appalled at his skill levels
They would do wonders with a talented young player, unfortunately there’s always the possibility of them selecting him for the Wallabies
