Sensational Sharks smash Reds

Sensational Sharks smash Reds

JON CARDINELLI reports on the Sharks’ 30-17 hammering of the Reds in Saturday’s play-off in Brisbane.

After the Bulls’ dismal effort in Christchurch, the Sharks have turned in a rousing physical performance to not only keep their own title hopes alive, but those of a nation.

The resounding victory in Brisbane has set up a semi-final showdown against the Stormers. What this means is that one South African team will definitely progress to the grand final on 4 August.

The Stormers will be difficult to beat in Cape Town, but the Sharks will fancy their chances given the manner of victory at Suncorp Stadium.

It was a superior forward performance that set the platform for what will go down as one of the great Sharks Super Rugby victories. On the back of that forward dominance, the Sharks piled on the points in the first half, and defended like demons in the second.

Some might say that the Sharks had their fair share of luck in this encounter. Indeed, Reds coach Ewen McKenzie would have felt a strong sense of dejavu as starting flyhalf Ben Lucas was carried off in the 21st minute, an injury that forced star scrmhalf Will Genia to shift to No 10.

Lucas had been ineffective while he was on the park, and it didn’t help that his forwards were copping a hiding at the collisions and breakdowns. The Reds certainly missed Quade Cooper’s decision making in that key position, and after Lucas cried off with injury, the Reds also missed Genia’s impact at No 9.

But while this certainly worked in the Sharks’ favour, the visitors made a great deal of their own luck. Travelling across the world for this fixture was never going to be easy, and doing so without Frans Steyn and Pat Lambie was expected to detract from their performance.

They went into the game as underdogs, but from the first whistle they showed the mongrel, desire and precision to win the key battles and eventually the match.

Apart from the raw power at the collisions (the Sharks pack was superb and the decision to play Willem Alberts at No 4 was vindicated), the decision making by the heavies was a real highlight.

The Sharks forwards would place their counterparts under pressure at the rucks, force the turnover and then produce some dazzling offloads that kept the movement alive.

They converted every early opportunity, racing to a 10-0 lead inside 13 minutes. By the half-hour mark they were 20-3 up, Freddie Michalak nailing a drop goal to keep the scoreboard ticking.

Genia would leave his mark on this match with an important play moments later. Spotting Jannie du Plessis defending on the wing, Genia directed play left and linked up smartly with Scott Higginbotham. The Wallabies loosie delivered the final pass to Genia, and at 20-10 the Reds were still in with a chance.

The period before and after half-time belonged to the Reds, but they were undone by their high-error rate as well as some stunning Sharks defence.

In fact, it was a sharp piece of pressure defence that created the Sharks’ next try, Charl McLeod reading the play beautifully and picking off a Genia pass.

The scrumhalf raced 75m to score, and at 27-10, the whole complexion of the game changed again. Another Sharks score would win the game, and the Reds would resort to some desperate tactics in an attempt to close that massive gap.

They turned down numerous shots at goal in search of a seven-pointer that would bring them closer, but their inability to win the collisions cost them at every turn.

While the Sharks spent almost the entire third quarter defending in their own territory, their ferocity at the point of contact was as rabid as was at the start of the game. They turned the Reds over from five metres out on several occasions, and again it was sharp decision making that cut down the Reds’ attacking space.

The Sharks had a further chance to score when Lwazi Mvovo broke from deep to spark a great period of attacking rugby with the offload in contact again a prominent feature. The ball eventually flew to the hapless Meyer Bosman, who tripped over his own feet and fell agonisingly short of the tryline. Fortunately for the Sharks, it was a gaffe that didn’t cost them on the scoreboard.

The Reds finished strongly in the final five minutes, but by then the result was beyond doubt. Radike Samo crossed the tryline and Genia converted, but all this served to do was lend some respectability to the scoreline.

The Sharks were more dominant that the final scoreline suggested, and that final try will not detract from what was their best defensive performance in 2012.

Scorers:
Reds – Tries: Will Genia, Radike Samo. Conversions: Mike Harris, Genia. Penalty: Harris.
Sharks – Tries: JP Pietersen, Paul Jordaan, Charl McLeod. Conversions: Freddie Michalak (3). Penalties: Michalak (2). Drop goal: Michalak.

Guaranteed we will see an additional 150 Hummers on the streets of CT this week, emblazoned with Sharks stickers, flags and fluffy toys hanging from mirrors.

Sharks never ‘smashed’ Reds… Reds were their own worst enemies…

Sharks got 2 lucky tries first half and then second half was all Reds…

Genia made a huge mistake in going for 3 points early in second half at 20-10 down which Harris missed… That turned the momentum away.. he should have pressurized for a line out try.. Instead less than 5 later Mcleod latched onto a gimme intercept to take the game away..

2nd half was all Reds with 1 try dotted turned down and 3 held up over the line.

Sharks can be commended on their defense this game.. and for making tries through good support running and off load in the tackle … but Reds lost it more than Sharks ‘smashed’ Reds as the heading says.

Second half was about 80-20 in Reds favor with at least 3 attempts on the line thwarted by resolute defense or Kaplan’s clever tactics at turning momentum away from the pressure point situation under the guise of ‘fairness’ to the Aussie team…

Stormers don’t stand a chance as far the Bullshark contingent declare in full presupposed utter conviction.

Stormers may as well not pitch up for the game.. its already done and dusted according to the Bullshark enclave of rugby aficionado’s ..

As for Bulls they gave up vs Crusaders before they hit the deck running.. made a half arsed attempt at playing a semi competitive game.. while rolling over and capitulating to the old enemy just as was expected from them before kick off… So nobody can honestly say they never tried even though back at the laager they know it was a lame attempt at a show of semi competitiveness.

2nd half Reds were all over Sharks .. if Mcleod had not got the gimme 7 points Reds would have won that game..

Genia made one huge stuff up giving Harris a shot at goal only 10 points down from 40 mts .. should have applied the pressure and gone for a line out try .. because that was where he coughed up the momentum with Mcleod getting a gift from nowhere.

Kaplan played a very nice game of fool the world he’s non partisan .. slowed every penalty momentum down when Reds were on a roll giving Sharks opportunity to defend the advantage.

    @ufo-302:

No, this wasn’t even their top performance so far.

The way they dominated the Bulls physically at Kings Park was an even better performance.

The Sharks coasted through the second half today, what with leading by 17 points, not needing a bonuspoint, being jet lagged and playing away from home to boot.

Look, its not rocket science. There’s a reason why the bulk of Meyer’s Bok team is made up of Sharks. They have the best talent in SA at the moment.

If Alberts, Coetzee and Bismark get going its hammer time at Newlands.

And even Kanko is playing with a new lease of life now that Meyer has shown some confidence in him.

This is simply a very good Sharks team.

    @RL-284:

Reds were down to their scrummy playing at 10.. and they were STILL ALL OVER Sharkshits for 80% of the second half.. If Genia had gone for a try early in second half instead of a 50/50 attempt at 3 points Sharks would not have gotten the gifted intercept 7 pointer

McKenzie is the best coach on the planet .. just his players let him down at crucial turnover situations… and Genia made a poor decision with most of the second half to play he turned momentum away.. Sharks were assisted by Kaplan a few times when Reds were pressing on Sharks line or in their 22.. beside TMO turning down a legitimate try…

Sharks scored against run of play and kept Reds out for 90% of the play in last 40.. Luck was on Sharkshit side today.. Reds lost both fly halves and Sharks got rub of the bounce first half and Reds didn’t finish all the possession and territory they dominated Sharkshits with 2nd half.

McKenzie is class taking a bunch of rubble to a S15 title with less than a 1/4 of the talent at their disposal that teams like Bok laden Sharks have… Jake is NOWHERE NEAR his class…

All the momentum and powerhouse potential is behind the Sharkshits.. even the national coach is hoping and praying Sharkshits destroy the wannabe Stormer gaylords because then he will be relieved to know his black/white Bokkies are in good hands…

So Stormers you got your conference title now be a good sport and give Heyneke, and his blou bloed chickenshit contingent of Bullsharks the satisfaction of backing the ‘best team’ in SA peaking at the appropriate time.. why even bother putting your body on the line for a result which is already deemed a one way ticket to the final by the mercenaries from the ‘guppy tank’.

I think HM needs to put Kacko in at 8 – the boy is playing well and will eat Spies alive.. Plus his line out works has been superb in the last few games, he destroyed the Bull’s in the line out. So the excuse of Spies add’s another dimension to the lineout can finally be crossed off. But HM is Blue Bulls man so who knows what he is thinking, hopefully he has watched the last few Bulls games, they have been dominated on all sides of the pitch.

How on earth else does one get rid of an unwanted coach, apart from shocking and disappointing results (losses…………) Kak results – coach gets shafted. GOOD results – coach stays.

So you want the Sharks to WIN, but want the WINNING coach Plumtree to feck off? It doesn’t work like that :) You wanting Plum gone means you want the Sharks performing badly, as you ain’t gonna get rid of him in any other way. #winkingstormersmiley#

    Fecking genius.

Erm no, wanting a new coach does equate to wanting the team to lose. What bizarre reasoning you have displayed!

Many people wanted Jake White gone and he won the RWC

You have shown yourself to be a fool.

Kicking it when you win…but when things aren’t going well, calling for the coaches head.
If Plumtree manages to win this whole thing, the only fool showing himself or herself, will be you.

If you want your coach gone – you can’t be sharing in his successes. In the same way, wanting success for your team (and gleefully sharing in it) but simultaneously wanting all the leadership to feck off is just as whack. ‘Hypocrisy for dummies’.

Sharks are coming to Newlands. Immodium and calmatives already sold out in Cape Town. I reckon Jean De Villiers is still on the loo, after the nervous stomach explosion he had from watching the jet lagged Sharks demolish the Reds.

@The Sharks rugby pedigree stole my password-381: again, your logic is completely flawed. The team is more than the coach. The team is supported, not the coach. Coaches come and coaches go, but the team will always remain. Do not forget that the Sharks have never finished higher than 6th under Plumtree and I can tell you fair and square for a team like the Sharks this is simply not good enough.

You have tried your best to dampen the great victory today (bitterbek Stormer that you are) but trust me you have not been successful. I am grateful to have proved you a fool and a liar.

As Ian Botham once said, the best thing about beating the Aussies is to hear them crying,,,, did you listen to Genia? ( who’s actually from New Guinea BTW ;)
Kaplan disallowed the Sharks a 100% legitimate try in the 62nd minute and did his best to keep the Reds in the game, such a bunch of scoundrels, did you hear their jeers?
The Bulls were not to far from it ether, once they assigned their dead woods to the bench they started controlling the game with the classy Pottie leading, trouble with the Bulls they got spoiled winning so many games by the referees, they got confused when they had to close out a game all by themselves.

Just to show Stormers fans the measure of respect Sharks players have for their team, this from Keegan.
Sharks captain Keegan Daniel later acknowledged that his side’s defensive effort had proved the difference.

“That’s what wins games and the boys put their bodies on the line,” he said.

“It was very physical and hats off to both sides, there were some big hits in that game.

“I think the boys will be looking forward to the Stormers challenge — we lost heavily there last time but this is finals football and if you win by one point, you win by one point.”

I tell you what is childish.

Being told you cannot validly criticise the coach when your team’s record reads played 9, lost 5 and won 4 after the first 9 games, capped up by a humiliating loss to the LIONS.

The team has since won 6 from the following 7 games. I haven’t heard too many people complaining about the coach in that period. Wins keep people happy. Something has changed. They have pulled finger. It is evident from not only the wins but the manner in which the team is playing. Kudos to the team and the staff.

There is only one person who keeps harping on about Plumtree, and given the team she supports, it suits her to do so. No surprise really.

NO doubt boet with all the travelling saturday for us will not be easy, Stormer have everything going for them, accept??????????

Like i said for a few weeks now, If the Sharks can again play exactly the same as against the Bulls?? and 2nd half againsy the Cheetahs and today the 80 min against the Reds? just might be possible

Again the answer is simple and take the travel factor aside, Mental prep, hunger, commitment, desire, etc etc, Both teams have great players etc, but if the factors i mentioned are there from the Sharks?? then yes we may just pull it off

Gdam HG going to go off like a bantamcock on crack cocaine – sharks played outstanding but no ways reds shoulda lost that game winning all those colissions and momentum – I never saw tge first 30 but sharks were tossing it around with *** abandon throughout

I think mckenzie going to be skopping gat up and down that xhangeroom whole night long – nevertheless it makes for a moerse enticing semi – only tram capable if beating saders is stormers at newlands but they need vermielen at least on the bench to do that I reckon.

Sharks are fck’d sing all your glory hallelujahs tonight because next week its tickets.. Stormers gonna take these big over fed guppy yuppies down..

Genia threw the game.. Reds were all over Sharks from half time whistle.. Reds were dominant and striking into the red zone at will.. then he goes for a 50/50 penalty and Harris misses.. that was the wrong turn he took.. Genia should have simply ploughed straight on into Sharkie territory like they did for 80% of second half and Sharks would have cracked… the intercept was the point were Reds were stuffed.. otherwise Reds were all over Sharks second half like a bad rash.

Kaplan slowed all the Reds breakdown momentum down.. every time he blew a penalty he enforced Reds to take foot off the gas which gave Sharks time to re organize. Kaplan very clever at making it look like he’s blowing straight meanwhile he’s blowing skew…

@CoachPete-578: Might just not work out that way Pete, although of course travel might well just derail the Sharks, but remember we as Saffas have always maintained that traveling from Kiwi to here is much easier then us travelling there, also a little help for the Sharks after the travel is playing at seas level. I think had the Sharks for example have had to play at Loftus?? would have been totally impossible

  • 582.fitz1ella: Reply to this comment

@CoachPete-558: Sharks got out the blocks quicker and Reds coughed 2 very easy tries in first 30

After half time Reds were all over Sharks and only desperate defense and some dodgy TMO decision kept them scoreless. Also Genia made a poor call going for a 3 pointer.. that was precisely where he took the foot off the pedal because till that point was only a matter of time before reds went over… instead Sharks cleared from the 22 drop and next movement McLeod got the intercept..

2nd half was all Reds but Sharks kept them out.. big tackling right on the try line for about 30 minutes solid…

Reds were down to their reserve hooker, reserve scrum half and without a fly half yet they would have pulled it through if Genia had gone for a line out instead of the iffy penalty in the first 10 of 2nd half.

Sharks deserved the win by virtue of their defensive efforts.. but 2nd half was 80% Reds and 20% Sharks with at least 3 tries held up or disallowed.

Sharks deserved the win .. overall they were the better team and Reds blew their chances with too many turnovers in the Red zone or on the try line…Reds were also not composed enough on attack.. and Sharks pulled out huge guts to stave off wave after wave of Reds attack.. something they’ve learned well from Stormers

The Alberts / Bressler 2nd row combo is actually a very good 2nd row option and I reckon might be the way to go for Boks with Alberts going to 4 and allowing for other options at 7 and 8.. but that Tarzan Potgieter clown at Bulls is definitely not Bok material.. not by a long shot.

Bulls should have made Dewalt potgieter captain that was the trick they missed.. by making Spies captain they basically stuffed their entire building year and are now further in arrears than they were before the S15 kicked off this year.

2009 is a LONG time ago.. Bulls got a long way to go to get back into the zone.. they not even intimidating up front and through the backs only one or two are pulling their weight.. too many mediocre middle of the road players without the real character of aggression required to make it at the top.

The attack from the Sharks in the first half was some of the best seen this season – they cut the Reds to ribbons. If Jordaan hadn’t have got injured it would probably have continued in the same vein. The Stormers would give their eye teeth for some of that – whether their fans admit it or not. @Heavens Game-603: No tune to change I called Sharks to win already early last week.. Sharks got lucky that Bulls pulled the short straw to go to Chch and Sharks got the easy semi vs a dwindled Reds team.. in spite of Sharks being the far stronger physical outfit to Reds they were on the back foot the entire 2nd half and Reds should have scored early in the 2nd period.. Sharks were saved by some big tackling and some clever manipulations by Kaplan who disguises his bias very cutely by giving Reds penalties but actually diminishing their scoring chances on momentum…

Nothing whatsoever to be scared about.. Stormers will klap these boys when they venture into Newlands… Vermeulen must sit out first half and come on off bench and Stormers will end Sharks campaign next week.

Sharks got 4 – 5 trump cards.. Beast, Bismark, Alberts, Coetsee and Pietersen

Take care of them and they an easy target.

Bulls on other hand were poor, and Crusaders eased up in 2nd half
What worries me is the core of the springbok team are Bulls, who play this brand of rugby that’s turning out to be ****
Add to it the mistakes, inability to protect the ball, and aimless kicks, there was only going to be one result against the Crusaders

Woooooo!!! SHARKSSS!!! What a win. They were awesome yesterday!!! Funny how Stormers fans think its going to be a walk in the park for them. The Sharks went over to Brissy and DOMINATED the champions at home! Even the commentators had to admit that the Sharks were just better than the Reds in all aspects.

My biggest concern is Jordaan. Is he out now? Bosman needs to go. He’s just not up to standard. Its a real pity Frans cannot play. I would’ve been really rating our chances next week. I still do but with the travel factor its going to be tough. No training is required for the team now. Just lots and lots of rest and tactical sessions. Finish en klaar.

Stormer should be up for the semi and no soft intercept tries on offer! :)

The Sharks did brilliantly and you know that. They cut the Reds defence to shreds. The backline sparked and stretched the Reds while Coetzee, Bismarck and Alberts punched holes allowing the back line to get an overlap.

After Jordaan went off injured we lost a bit of shape and the jet lag was starting to kick in a bit but jassus the Sharks defended like trojans and kept their cool. It would’ve been 4 tries had Doosman not fell over his two left feet. That one has to go. He offers us nothing!

@Te Rangatira-666: Look at these gracious Kiwi supporters giving credit where its due, much in the same most of us acknowledge that the Chiefs and Crusaders are fantastic teams and either will be a scary prospect to play a final against. A huge contrast with the feral Stormers fans who seek to throw mud at every other team except their own.

Stormers fans should be thanking the Sharks because its now guaranteed an SA team will be contesting the final. But neither the Sharks nor the Stormers have what it takes to de-throne the Saders.

The Stormers have no attacking synergy and the Sharks aren’t adaptable enough. But here’s hoping the Sharks make it to the final so I can go see them in Hamilton or Christchurch!

The Sharks win was far from perfect and I wasn’t happy about us going to sleep in the last quarter and also having the chance to finish the game off with an open try line beckoning only for Bosman to screw everything up! Eish. Still we were just sublime in the first-half and it highlights how important a good midfield combo is. Michalak is playing with great confidence and Whitehead is proving to be a great distributor.

It’s a real shame about Jordaan. Any news on whether he is out now? I now see him as a key player for the Sharks. Bosman needs to move on. Jordaan is the Sharks no.13 going forward. Exciting times next year with Frans back at 12. Bosman and Ndungane need to move on. Sithole must be elevated to the bench. With a back line of Jordaan, Mvovo/Sithole and JPP that is a lot of speed and power. Makes for a mouthwatering prospect. Biggest loss is going to be Kanko who is in fantastic form. I’m satisfied with Daniel as captain. The next challenge will be finding a back up to McLeod.

Sharks vs Stormers should be a really tough match, but so will Chiefs vs Crusaders. Lets hope for no key player injuries to the winning teams. Getting to the serious stuff now and I think that it is fair to say that the right teams are there. Only thing I couldn’t work out in the Sharks game was this new move of theirs where the fly-half stands at the edge of every ruck throwing his arms up and down like a traffic conductor. From the Sydney Morning Herald

    Cooper still fuming over ban
    Date
    July 22, 2012 – 5:59PM

Water boy duties have not helped Queensland Reds playmaker Quade Cooper cool down over his Super Rugby suspension judging by a tweet that may land him in more trouble.

Reduced to the support role for the Reds’ knockout final against the Sharks in Brisbane on Saturday night, Cooper tweeted following the match: “SANZAR = lottery”.

But Reds coach Ewen McKenzie refused to cry foul after a Cooper-less Queensland’s title defence ended with a 30-17 loss to the Sharks, snapping their six-game winning run.

McKenzie had plenty to lament after his final game before handing the reins to Richard Graham and becoming Reds director of coaching.

Not only had the Reds lost Cooper to a controversial dangerous tackle ban, his replacement Ben Lucas (ankle) was carried off and hooker Saia Faingaa suffered a corked bicep by the 22nd minute against the Sharks.

One minute later the Reds trailed 17-0 as the Sharks went on to book a semi-final clash with the Stormers, prompting a scathing post-match analysis from Queensland captain Will Genia.

But McKenzie believed the Reds were in good shape as they headed into the club’s bold new era.

“There’s a lot of things to be positive about,” he said after the Reds lost only their third game in 24 Suncorp Stadium clashes.

“There’s been a lot of talk about the Brumbies having a great season but in the end our team’s average age is younger than theirs so we’ve got a lot of football ahead of this group.

“I’ve been involved for three years and a lot of the guys have come into the program and they’ve developed as players into Wallabies.

“It wasn’t a great one (on Saturday night) but we will dust ourselves off and keep going.”

The Reds have the potential to groom more into Wallabies after Cooper and teammates Liam Gill, James Slipper, Rob Simmons, Jake Schatz, Radike Samo, Ben Tapuai and James Hanson were all called up for a national training camp in Sydney from August 1-3.

That will result in a 30-man Wallabies squad for the inaugural Rugby Championship.

Regular halfback Genia was rested from the camp along with Digby Ioane.

Genia may need the time off to calm down after his heroics as fill-in five-eighth No.2 were not enough to stop the Sharks.

“If we lost and played well to a better side you’d could cop it a bit easier – but we were poor,” he said.

Just like their round-four clash against the Sharks, Genia moved in at No.10 after Lucas went down injured.

But Sharks coach John Plumtree didn’t see it coming.

“I was a little surprised that they didn’t put (inside centre Mike) Harris at 10,” Plumtree said.

“Will allowed us into the game because he was throwing a lot of skip passes and we read that.”

Durban referee Jonathan Kaplan was booed off the ground but most Queensland fans saw red over the TV match official denying Gill a 57th minute try, citing inconclusive grounding.

“(TV commentator) Rod Kafer is independent and he said it was a try – that’s all I have to go with right now,” McKenzie said.

    The HG Definitive Sharks Ratings:

    1. Beast… 8… Played like a loosie… Scrummed like an animal.
    2. Bismarck… 8… The Enforcer. Fckwith him at your Reds Peril.
    3. Doc/Herbst… 6… Doc looked good when on, but too little time. Herbst did enough.
    4. Alberts…7… The Tank was good, but not as good as some other.
    5. Bresler… 7… Most improved Shark this season. Getting better.
    6. Daniel… 8… The Lionheart. Produced the play of the match with a backflip offload to Jordaan.
    7. Coetzee…8… The Wrecking Ball. Nuff said.
    8. Kanko… 10… Faultless performance. Playing as a classic, complete 8. From lineout jumping, to lineout steals… to ball pilfering in rucks… to brutal hits on D… To roving at the back helping back 3 cover kicks… to midfield splitting runs… He has added cold steel to his flair… A great contrast to GI Joe Spies as the best 8 in the country bar none.
    9. McLeod… 7… Up and down. Saved from a 6 by his intercept try… Sharks weak link at the moment. Needs consistency and just a bit more composure.
    10. Fred… 9… Nearly faultless… A French Magician yesterday on attack and a terrier on defence.
    11. Mvovo…8… Positioning slightly suspect but had Kanko to help. Clutch player extraordinaire however… When needed, produced the goods and his pin ball breakout that sparked a length of the field charge to the line deserved to end in a try by Bossie.
    12. Whitehead… 7… Did his job well enough to fill Frankies boots admirably. A couple missed tackles blighting the copybook.
    13. Jordaan…8… When on field excellent. Makes you wonder why he didnt play for baby Boks at 13. Bosman…5… Excellent on D when he came on… but hellsteeth an embarrassing fall with tryline in reach takes him down from 7
    14. JPP…10… Is there a better 14 in World Rugby at the moment. He is Complete.
    15. Ludik…9… Has Rapidly become Sharks Mr Dependable. Did nothing wrong on D, positioning great and ran some very good lines. Open field tackle of the night, facing down dangerous Digby on a linebreak, where more illustrious names at 15 have been reduced to mere Traffic wardens. Will be hard for SuperPat to displace him.

The Sharks need to stick with the Team that started against the Reds next week at “Fortress” Newlands against the Conference “Title Holders”… Super Pat can play from the bench and cover 15, 12 and 10 as a tactical option against the “Top” team…

So Kankowski gets a 10 ? It must be the Olympics, Nadia Comaneci is in town.

At one defensive scrum, he picked up at the base and immediately went wide and got isolated. He went wide because he has no power or ballast, meaning he shirks the hard yards. The result was he got bent like a choirboy and broke, coughing up an easy turnover to the Reds. Directly under the posts. Against better teams than the Reds, thats game over.

He’s not a no8s arse. He makes Pierre Spies look like Keiran Read.

Marcelle Coetsee is an absolute machine, and the form of Keegan Daniels and Kankowski has created an awesome loose trio….I have my tickets booked for Saturday, going to be a classic….The Sharks made all Saffas very proud yesterday, as for the Buls, well….woeful comes to mind.

Here is a FAR better balanced outlook on how Sharks got gifted a win by Ref and TMO yesterday.. and contrary to the wankathon being displayed around here..

and this from a genuine Sharks supporter IN Brisbane.. not a brow beaten one eyed moegoe who are prevalent by the handful around here..

    This also from ‘another blog’

‘I have never been a fan of keegan daniel… what he produced yesterday was freaking amazing. That pass that put jordaan away was insane! I apologise to Keegan for the past, I am a very big fan now!

With regards to the aussies not being classy in defeat, yes Genia wasnt very congratulating but then again he doesnt have to be since he is right. They made so many stupid mistakes at crucial times which he admitted to and Kaplan had a shocking game. Im a delighted Shark but if the shoe was on the other foot then I wouldnt be too please. The reds flanker score the try and that was around the 55min mark. That is stil a lot of rugby to be played. So he was correct in saying they would have been in with a shout. We werent dominating the second half and I felt the entire time that the reds could still snatch the win. The ausie commentators were saying that the sharks were the best team on the day and I dont think anyone is denying that. I think it was a matter of Genia expressing his frustrations. Anyway thats just my 5 cents.’

I hope we klap those stormers!!!!!!!!!

Comment 38, posted at 22.07.12 08:31:50 by Ozbok

@CapeShark (Comment 36) : Goddard’s decision was based on the question asked by Kaplan. He asked about the first grounding (Digby) not the second grounding (flank). As far as im concerned that was a try. and with 25min left in the game things could have been different.

Lol. And what if the Sharks lose the semi? Can’t escape that they have finished 6th, 9th, 6th and 6th under Plumtree. I would say the time is right for some fresh ideas and perhaps a coach that may be able to take this collectively very talented team to that next level (winning the trophy) which they arguably should have achieved some years ago.

But the Stompies are seeking only to create division amongst the Sharks ranks if they say this means that there is a wilful desire to see the Sharks lose. Of course not.

And let me be very clear. I HAVE NEVER CALLED FOR THE SHARKS TO LOSE ANY GAME AT ANY TIME. If you feel you can show different search the archives and PROVE IT!

Some have openly called for it and that is to be despised.

However if the criticism Plumtree felt has managed to release the finger from his arshlock then perhaps the criticism was justified? It certainly seems as if something has changed, and the improvement is very, very welcome. Of course the fans approve.

I would like to see what happens if Toetie gets a bad run of results? Just how long will the Stompie fans’ patience last? Seeing they magically equate questioning the coach’s tenure to actively wishing losses on the team……… I guess they won’t speak out at all…………..

    Farken hypocrites and truth-benders.

(Or something to that effect).
I wonder if he has changed his mind? I wish I could remember his name :)

Whatever way you scientologists slice and dice the sudden surge of warm and fuzzy thoughts about your team, there have been some precious moments since the Lions game……”Sharks lost because of all their Bok players were focused on the tests….”Sharks won because all their Bok players switched focus back to the Sharks”..”Plum sucks”..”Plum is a god”….”Injuries killed us early in the season (remembering of course no other team had injuries…”….”Fransie saved us”….”Bosman cost us” – oh it has been a special brand of slapstick.

Two little foot soldiers have stood firm in their Sharks belief – one because he is too arrogant to know otherwise…and one because he is too simple minded to know otherwise. (Not sure if they deserve a medal or a klap…)

@fitz1ella-994: Yeah, well whoever dares steal my nic needs a farken PK straight up their wellused, welloiled arseholle, whoever it is…

And Plum is in the process of giving those runts who started that FB petition and all the other “Dumbtree” fuckwits one figurative PK with the way HIS side has been playing for the last 3 games… Especially those carnts from that Sharksworld “supporter” site…

Let us not forget that Plum is a Shark thru and thru too…

How is it possible for people to just take the usernames of others? The system should not allow it – surely.

@Heavens Game-1001: now the same fuckwits are parading around here as if they been behind him all along… basking in all the glory when was them alone who been front of the lynch mob out for a Plum hanging.. and they be the nic thieves I reckon.. just to exacerbate the confusion and fraudulence around the town…goody two shoes nic thieves pretending they been Plum backers all along.. if Sharkshits to go on and win this thing they still gonna want his head.. how’s that for loyalty and allegiance for you.
