Foley commits to Force
1 Aug 2012
Former Waratahs coach Michael Foley has signed a three-year deal with the Force.
Foley quit his head coaching post at the Waratahs on Tuesday. He has replaced Richard Graham at the Force and believes the team can improve on its mediocre record in Super Rugby, as well as its style of play.
‘While my expectations are realistic, I’m very excited about this challenge,’ Foley said. ‘It’s my role to set up a program that builds towards success. The coaching staff will be looking to promote an exciting brand of rugby that captures the imagination of our fans and wins games as well.
‘To that end, we will be looking to recruit an attacking coach with a record of producing that style of game. I want our fans to be excited about the style of footy we’re playing and keen to be a part of the club.’

rubbish dragon!
the aussies are rewarding mediocrity these days…the Tahs won only FOUR games & went on an 8 game LOSING streak & this bloke gets a three-year hand shake

The Tahs are a mess. Most coaches would struggle for success with the selfserving agendas that cripple that union. Any union that can sack Ewen McKenzie after taking the side to the finals.,because he thought he knew how to coach better than the board, tells you a lot about what is valued at Waratah HQ. Foley will find a freer hand awaits him in Perth.

How will the force be able to compete next year anyway? They had a substantial exodus of quality players in the last 2-3 years.

crazy aussies – instead of getting new coach in they recycle bad coaches…my money on it that Foley be fired before his time is up.

Does this make sense?

@greatest13gerber-8: @viewer-9:
You guys need to understand the setup in Oz, the Worrytahs are by far the worst club in the Super comp to coach. Politics reign supreme and the coach have a cat of 10,000 he needs to please.
Foley, just like his predecessor Link is not a poor coach, it is just a kuk lub.
Have your say
