Kings stutter in Nelspruit

The EP Kings were held to a 30-30 draw by the Pumas in Nelspruit in the Currie Cup First Division.

The Kings retained their unbeaten league status, but missed out on an opportunity to record their sixth straight victory. They led 17-9 at half-time, but the Pumas delivered a strong second-half performance to break down the deficit and force the stalemate.

Outside centre Tiaan Marx was the hero for the hosts as he dotted down for a last-minute try. Fullback JC Roos slotted the conversion to see the two teams share the spoils.

Meanwhile, the Leopards and Boland picked up big home wins over Border (53-28) and the Valke (79-26) respectively. SWD downed the Griffons 20-13.
