Force snap up Tahs flanker
22 Aug 2012
The Western Force have confirmed the signing for Waratahs openside flank Chris Alcock on a two-year deal.
The South African-born 24-year-old featured in the No 7 jersey for most of the Sydney team’s Super Rugby campaign this season. He has played 25 matches for the Waratahs since making his debut in 2010.
Alcock is new Force coach Michael Foley’s second signing after he reeled in wing Kyle Godwin recently.
Alcock said Foley, who parted ways with the Waratahs after a poor Super Rugby run this year, was a big reason for the move.
‘I’ve got a great relationship with Foles and he’s been very helpful in developing me throughout my professional career, so I was very pleased to have the opportunity to continue working with him at the Force,’ said Alcock. ‘It’s a great opportunity for me at the Force. It’s going to be a fairly new team with a number of guys leaving, and it’s a great opportunity to be part of something new.’

And perhaps he worked out that with Michael Hooper arriving in Tah-land, he would be riding a lot of pine.
Mind you, who actually WOULD like to be part of the Tahs. They don’t play rugger like it should be played any more.
Anyway – over at the Force he may get to practice his Afrikaans with Sarel?

@BillTong-2:
You mean Sias… and Alcock doesn’t speak a word of Afrikaans… he was a young Soutie when he arrived here…
Have your say
