Flyhalf Johan Goosen will make his comeback from injury in the Free State Cheetahs’ Currie Cup match against Griquas on Friday.

Goosen suffered a serious shoulder injury midway during the Cheetahs’ Super Rugby season. He was only expected back during September, but will feature this weekend in Kimberley. The 20-year-old replaces Sias Ebersohn in the No 10 jersey.

There is one more change to the starting line-up as Rayno Benjamin comes in for Riaan Smit, who’s out with a dislocated shoulder. Smit and scrumhalf Piet van Zyl (broken collarbone) are out for the rest of the Currie Cup campaign.

Subs: 16 Elandre Huggett, 17 Schalk van der Merwe, 18 Francois Uys, 19 Davon Raubenheimer, 20 Tewis du Bruyn, 21 Sias Ebersohn, 22 Nico Scheepers.

    Goosen had 2 come off the bench first naka and hawie… We need 2 check him for rustness etc etc.

    But when he come unscattered in the match… It will be his last ’cause the bokke needs him more!!!

    Hopefully it’s not too soon, i hope for SA rugby and us that he’s shoulder will hold up and that he’s stronger!! Boy we need a “New” and more Exciting 10 for the Boks!! HM needs to wake up and make the necessary changes, pienaar scrummie, hougie wing, and we need a fetcher!!
