Retired Bok answers Cheetahs’ SOS

Former Springbok flank Hendro Scholtz has come out of retirement to help the injury-ravaged Cheetahs.

The Cheetahs have been hit by injuries, especially in the loose forward department. Bok Heinrich Brüssow will be back this week for the match against Western Province, but the Cheetahs are still without Frans Viljoen, Kabamba Floors, Johannes Prinsloo, Philip van der Walt and Juan Smith.

This has forced coach Naka Drotske to ask the 33-year-old Scholtz to come out of retirement. The former Cheetahs captain will be on the bench, while Brüssow, Lappies Labuschagne and Davon Raubenheimer will comprise the starting back row.

In the backs, Andries Strauss will start at inside centre.
