Cornell du Preez scored a hat-trick as the table-topping EP Kings banked a bonus-point victory against Border in First Division action this weekend.
The 35-19 result in East London consolidates the Kings’ log position. They now boast a record of 10 wins in 11 games, and are sitting on 50 log points.
In the other match played on Friday, the SWD Eagles thumped the Leopards 64-34 in George. The scores were level at 34-34 after 57 minutes before the hosts scored three quick tries to bank the win.
Saturday’s fixtures saw the Pumas picking up a 29-22 away win against the Valke, and the Griffons beating Boland 54-28 by virtue of a superior second-half performance.
